MF is the only difficulty slider in this game

i was taking about dedicated MF character versus fast clearer not something in between so your input doesnt matter. AND when i get my flicker build completed i will have 200% iir on it aswell. BUT that wasnt the point i was trying to ask/talk about.
That has no relevance to the OP, having a balance has always been the best way to solo MF. Gimping your character and overstacking MF only works if you have someone or something else to blow mobs up.

Do you agree that having some MF is always better than 0 MF?
some MF is allways better than 0 MF but only IF thats not taken away from something else.

Id say that 10%iir on piety run = 20sec time to run it (just my oppinion)

But personally wouldnt get a single % of mf if it wasnt in a piece of gear that doesnt improve other aspects of the build also.

My own MF is coming from Gifts from above rings and boots and iir gem AND my build is crit flickerstrike with 90%+ crit change so those rings are the rings i would use anyways.

Btw. Even with 0IIQ and 200IIR during normal runs/maps I am seeing so much white trash drop that it is unbelievable :(

Well you guys did ask for MF to be nerfed, GGG listened. :)

MF really isnt needed anymore as it used to be. Now you just have to have a builds that can kill bosses in 2 seconds and that aint a 400% IIR sporker. MF changed, it's just that people here are slow to realize it. I got full inventory of rares killing Dominus with -negative- IIR (Voidhome).

I would take Goldwyrm over every pair of boots even if IIQ was the only stat on it. 30% more items is 30% more items. Unless GGG add a pair of boots that increase clear speed or dps by 30% theres no reason to wear anything else ever.

BiS tri-res, life , ms boots will just sit in stash collecting dust. I don't even see the point of having rare boots in the game.
goldwyrms for me isnt as good as rare boots with movespeed, iir, 30% movespeed is just so good and then theres all the rest of the stats you can roll on em after those 2.
my boots atm but thats the worst item/slot i have atm for my build, would have way better boots but only with 20% speed and that 10% is HUGE :D

And its all a matter of oppinion.
100% agree with everything OP said. I too run on mostly on Standard League + self-found, and I have arrived at a point where all my of characters are basically unplayable, since progress is not possible without acquiring massive gear upgrades via trade.

A Level 77 Templar, a level 75 Ranger, a level 72 Witch and a level 70 Duelist are sitting in town, with no skill points spend, since there is absolutely no point in wasting my free respec on a character, that is unable to progress without buying massive gear upgrades. You now might think that I'm just greedy, well, I'm not, I'm just as poor/unlucky as 98% of the players no one hears about. 98%, you doubt it? Remember only 3% of the active players post on the forum and the No.1 rule to keep in mind is that on the Internet, the majority of posts will be extremes, while the average players are busy playing the game.

I've played Path of Exile almost every day since July 2012, and yet, I have only found 4 Exalted Orbs so far and made 2 additional Exalts trading away the only half-decent item I found so far. To make things worse, prices in Standard League keep skyrocketing. For example. right before the end of open beta a Bringer of Rain would cost you around 2-3 Exalts, now it's 10-15 Exalts. Same goes for almost every other decent progress enabling item.

My only hope is that someone at GGG takes heart and does something about it. I know this is not the kind of positive and constructive feedback you crave for, but I've tried that before and while I got positive player responses I never got any sign of recognition from the devs. I figured that you need a certain mindset, a certain kind of stubbornness to develop a game like Path of Exile in the first place. During the last months of closed beta it became clear to me, that this mindset prevents the devs from taking player feedback and putting it to the test. So if you are in a situation like mine, maybe it is time to take an extended break from this game. Remember, even Blizzard took their sweet time removing the AH, and they got overwhelming negative feedback right from the start. (Of course, in Blizzards case, that's mostly due to abysmal greed.)

What benefit does move speed give you on a melee character that can also spam leap-slam or flicker strike. You said you were a burst dmg flicker strike build so i'm assuming you dont kite much, what use does the move speed have over 30% more items?
the use of movespeed isnt big but it really helps you from getting from pack to pack faster and without losing all frenzy charges between the packs. which isnt a problem 95% of the time but that 5% is still 5% more frustration and slowing down the grind. And in my build there is 0% increased attack speed so moving with whirling blades and leapslam isnt that fast, 30% movespeed with 4 quicksilvers is faster.
lol im killing my bosses with 230-240%ish IIR by now and im still lacking a few good IIR IIQ pieces and i can safely say that it´s a nice placebo.
unless you think that upping your IIR IIQ will suddenly give you phat lewts.
i get more trash then anything srsly.
o ye sure i get the rare unique ring and lowlvl amu i cant wear with my main because they suck so badly for my build.
