MF is the only difficulty slider in this game

I don't bother with MF. If I ever do, I will make a build around it, but on my other characters it's all about them HPs and deeps.
One way I look at it, and it's fairly true, I have a friend that does the whole MF shit on Nemesis, on his main character. By the time he clears a map, I clear 3-4, in a sense, that's a major IIQ right there lol. I am considering making a MF char, but the thought of it puts me to sleep honestly haha. |

Damage Per Second Survability Most builds can only support 2 out of these 3 things. The only builds that can do all 3 well require insanely expensive gear. |

"I am not impressed, because it misses the point. It would be like if there was a generic "+x% increased Damage" affix, and it was "OP" because everyone was using it, so GGG just reduced the values and kept the affix in the game. MF should be build-dependent. Just like everything else. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I just think a good piece of gear should be judged on its dps/survivability merits not how much iir/iiq it has while still somehow maintaining those other stats. They might as well just make mf a base stat that everyone has (paragon levels anyone??) Why does Piety drop less loot unless you fight her with one hand tied behind your back? Does she see you coming and put the good silverware away unless you have lucky rings on? Makes no sense.
It's especially annoying when you're levelling-up questing through content maybe for the first time on your first toon, and because you either haven't found much mf gear yet, or you can't wear it because you are packing the best dps gear you can handle in order to beat the content, you end up killing act bosses and getting a sea of blues. You fight a rogue exile and get blues. The sad thing is those first times you run through the game are the most dramatic. Those are the times when you feel wow i just beat Merveil, what an epic fight! And yet you get crap, because you aren't geared for farming...? Makes no sense. I'm not saying the game should be tweaked so that it's like a loot pinata all day long but i'm sure if mf was removed as a gear stat a happy balance could be found. Mf has been a staple of the diablo type games for so long I think it's like one of those sacred cows that devs are afraid to tamper with even though it's outdated. |

I just spent 20 regrets on my summoner to make it MF capable...

I understand where you are coming from OP. I really do. But lets say that GGG will remove MF from the game now. What is your plan to compensate me and many others who played 400+ hrs trying to collect their MF gear? It is just not fair..

There are other difficulty sliders. You can choose to group or not. You can make the game more difficult by limiting access to twinked gear or even eliminating it entirely. You can choose to play left-handed if that's your idea of a good time.

I have not been running ANY MF gear at all for a long time now and having way more fun.
