Looking for input on creating a unique item for elemental bow users (Focused around fire damage)

Evening bump.
Afternoon bump.
Ever play Diablo 2? Well if you haven't or even if you had (and likely won't know this weapon), here:

The damage was actually pretty lackluster, the defense and mana weren't very helpful and the AR (accuracy) didn't mean very much either.

But bolts it shot were fire damage, pierced, and exploded outwards. That's the big part.

Amazons, the designated archer class, actually didn't get much out of it. The damage was too small and relevant skills already pierced or exploded or did fire or did not want any of that so the obvious choice was actually a dud. However when handed to a Paladin, a defensive melee class, they could set a passive aura to add a bunch of cold damage or lightning or to attack faster/harder. Flying through auras they could change what kind of armor piercing, incendiary rounds they were firing to handle varying enemies. Others that used it well were the Assassin since she could buff it to do some terrifying poison damage and the Sorceress who could enchant it for 5-6 digit fire damage. Anybody that could add some insane damage to a weapon made that explosive nature a fast way to clear a room despite the lack of a dedicated bow-skill on those classes.

My point is that those are funky mods that made various skills go completely insane and enabled entire variations to existing classes. My experience with the bow-related skills in PoE is limited, but I'd suggest something like that. Maybe an added AoE component to bow skills used in the item or skill gems are treated as though they had pierce or something.

Alternatively...

That bow's a pretty solid bow all around and helps quite a few builds, but the main draw is that skill at the bottom. It's not important how broken the skill was, but it was THE cornerstone of archers in Diablo 2, the skill I mean, and that bow let ANYBODY use that akill. Arguments about how that was the devil aside, another option would be to grant Eldritch Battery or Point Blank or something and go from there. I know, not necessarily fire-based, but I think pierce+explode would really give that feel and just wanted to offer the idea of another avenue to "build changing" items.

Anyway hope it helps.

EDIT: Oh! Like "Skills in this item are granted level 10 Elemental Proliferation" or whatever the support's called that gives the AoE debuff passing.

Europe-Poland :D
MrJim Ranger 82lvl physical-build
MrJimo Templar 59lvl support-build
Don't use burning arrow..... Lightning arrow stacks shock damage and is good when going into groups of monsters. Try explosive arrow with LMP/GMP and fork/chain. Very good AoE.
bumping because i have a high interrest in this item and the builds it could support. are there an approximate time it will be featured?
I'm going to be submitting my ideas today. I'll keep everyone updated with details on the finalized item as well as when we could expect to see the item live in game.
Flicker strike immunity puhleeease
I still need to come up with my Unique as well =\

I've been toying with a few ideas from a ship in a bottle flask to a dual-wield sword.

Im leaning towards the later for dual-wielding rangers.
Mods ideas:

- Deals 100% more phisical damage on ENEMY Full Life
- Deals 10% more damage to burning enemies
- Adds 100% of yours hit chance as critical multiplier

Drawbacks:
- Leech 1-3% yours HP on each attack
- Halves burning time on enemies
