SRSLY! Whats going on with poe end game!!

Since 1.0 patch, GGG said high map drop rate increased,

them may be 2-3 days, it was right. I was really fum

but lately, I can seldom find map, even lower maps

I hate GGG too
My only suggestion for you is what has worked worked for me....

MAP POOLS

I wait til I have at least 12 maps of the same level before I run that level.

Want to follow up on that.

Map management.

To recap. I started out with 1 66, obviously. Then I got 66 drops and 67 drops (maybe some 68s). Did all 66 until I had more or less 20 67s and some 68s. Then went on to 67. When I got 66s from 67- I did the 66 again to further boost the upper funnel of maps. Then I had a good pool of 67 68 and some 69s.

Now it gets hard. U go for high IQ and the rate of progressing slows down tremendously.

I agree with what has been said. Its not supposed to be a walk in the park.

If it was like that - this game would not exist.

Some here says they are working off a 70 base map pool. Well.

Is that because you are roller coasting back and forth form lower tiers or are you able to keep the 70 pool running off the 70 or 70 +?

I know there are many passionate players out there, largely supporting this game. Cudos to you, but it needs to be room to raise a valid point: if you use alch/chaos on a 69s for 10 maps (just did that as mentioned in FT and you always stay above 50 + IQ in addition to running the IQ gem for your MA, its just puzzeling that all you get is 1 70 map (rest is 66 / 67s). It does not add up (in the loooooooooooooooooooooooooong run!)

Endgame is terrible thats what. I see a bunch of people posting their lucky RNG drops in here, bragging how they have this many exalts or this many maps; well good for you. I found a BoR the other day, and your posts are the equivalent of me telling some noob to stfu and farm and he will find a BoR, like thats gonna ever happen.

Not being able to participate in an endgame is a terrible system. Its bad enough it wrecks your currency pool, and takes a lot of currency to even get into or enjoy, but then you have to contend with NOT even getting the maps to play in the first place. I see a bunch of people making posts like, "Well when you get to 100 too fast!" How many people have ever got 100? 1? 2? Really thats a poor argument for making high level map drops so scarce; its not like you are soaring up the ladders anyways. Lets not even get into the fact they are about worthless for farming, and are only good for XP. You are better off farming Dominus for loot with MF then wasting your time farming maps.

You guys that post here dont understand statistics at all. Just because YOU find it, or have a good map pool, doesnt mean EVERYONE can. For every one of you that the RNG gods blessed, there is a player like the OP out there getting wrecked on the other side of the curve. and not finding any. My buddy complains all the time that he doesnt even care how much currency he has to blow on the maps; he just wishes he could find the maps to keep progressing.

PoE should have learned from D3 that people do not like an endgame they cannot participate in; this was the biggest failure with release Inferno when the vast majority of players could not even DO Inferno, while the select few lucky enough to roll a Demon Hunter or a Sorceress could; which is the equivalent to those with lucky Map drops. Some are getting to enjoy the endgame while the others sit around mindlessly grinding 67s and never seeing high 70s.

There is nothing more demoralizing than rolling up some good maps that you saved up, and not getting any map drops from them. Its a bad system. You should have a much higher chance of at least getting a map that is of equal level to the one you are doing. Doing a 70+ map and seeing a 66 just makes you want to uninstall the game and move on.

Honestly, MoC was a better endgame than this. It sounds good on paper until you are stuck doing the equivalent of grinding Act 1 Inferno because you cant do Act 2 because you rolled a barb or something.

Just wanted to say I agree with this post and I am one of those players that the RNG gods are currently smiting. And it doesn't feel good or make me want to continue spending several hours a day trying.

Thanks for framing this like you did. I agree completely. Getting stuck "hardcore-ish" below 70 is pretty sucky. And no - we are not talking 10 map runs here - more like 300 + . When a game gets aggravating, its not for me. Stupid comparison, because WoW is somewhat easier for noobies, but I stayed with that game for seven years. For one reason. The raids and the thrill of seeing a piece of loot. You knew when you logged into a raidnight (or a map night for poe for comparison) that the 5 hours you spent actually had the odds of yielding something. Right now I feel better of jizzeling the bingo-club with my granny - at least I can win something (or watch some teeth fall out).

Lots of people are. My friend gets incredibly frustrated every day because he just doesn't find the maps, and he chisels them up and alch/chaos them. He has poor luck.

As I posted in another thread, maps should be hard to do; not hard to get. The content inside should be the hardest thing about the maps, but currently the hardest thing about maps is just getting the damn maps.

I dont even like the system. The farming is incredibly poor inside maps, I have more riches from just farming Dominus over and over with Magic find and just leveling outside of maps to make me wonder what is even the point? You spend so much currency on them for absolutely nothing, when you could just grind Piety with MF and level decently fast and get ingame rich, compared to throwing away multiple chaos for literally nothing; not even more maps.
The only problem I have with maps is that there are too many prefixes and not enough suffixes. Because of this, it's virtually impossible to roll a rare map without one of the ground elemental effects (burning, chilled, shocking) since they removed Warlord's Mark and added Shocking Ground. I have two problems with this.

1. The ground effects cause a massive framerate drop for me. My PC isn't that bad. I have to waste a very large number of chaos orbs rerolling these maps.

2. Even without the framerate drop, the fact that these ground effects are on 80% of rare maps is a little redundant. I feel like that number should be closer to 20%. It shouldn't be so that nearly every single map you enter has fire, ice or electricity covering the ground.

I would suggest that they turn some of the prefixes into suffixes. Maps desperately need more suffix variety. There are roughly twice as many potential prefixes as there are suffixes. I think the endgame would benefit greatly if this disparity was reduced.

Here's the thing about maps - it's not just about good management, there's a pretty large amount of luck involved.

Before release when I was mapping a lot, I followed the Map Management resource. I had no problem getting and sustaining a 69 pool, but 70+ was always a huge problem. I mazed all of my Tunnel and Overgrown Shrines, alch'd the rest, and even chaos'd it the IIQ sucked too much or the mods were impossible. I'd even chisel/regal the mazes sometimes. But I was never able to have enough 70s and 71s to not have to go do 69s.

What's missing here?
