Armour vs. life

I always was curious about one thing. How do endurance charges work with the armour formula.Eg. say u have 5 charges-meaning 20% flat damage reduction(to my knowledge endurance charges do not use the armour formula but they reduce that percentage,no matter how big the hit is).So u take a hit for 10K.Then how does it actually work?THe hit is reduced to 8K by charges and then the arour formula is calculated against this 8K,or the armour formula is calculated againt 10K?

The physical damage reduction (from Endurance Charge) stacks with the damage reduction from Armour, so that they are both applied at the same time. For example, if a monster deals 100 damage, and you have 8% Damage Reduction from two endurance charges, and enough armour to prevent 30 of the 100 damage, the incoming damage would be reduced by 38.

What can never be lent or earned?
Somewhat, that devours everyone and everything:
A tree that rush. A bird that sings. It eat bones and smite the hardest stones.
Masticate every sword. Shatters every shrine. It defeat mighty kings and carry mountains on lightly wings.

Still messing up primary and secondary defenses. Life/ES are nothing without secondary defensive mechanics - AR/EVA/block. A player won't care if he has 10k life/es, but a white beetle hits him for 300-400 dmg, without a miss, isn't it? The proportions of primary/secondary defense values are set by the player and these determine if his build is viable or not, arpg genre is about that.
I will disagree with OP, as the primary defenses (life/es) have to be the priority, not secondary ones. I think he doesn't know how armor actually works.
Actually 300 damage out of 10k life is like 3% of your life total. If you care that you were essentially poked then you have some issues.

Armor is crap vs big hits, but evasion far worse because you sacrifice hp and armor for it.

The biggest issue in this game is insane spike dmg though

Ok, replace poor beetle with anything that hits harder, if you wish. It changes nothing.

Since when does evasion decrease your health? The only thing you lose out on by learning to dodge is that useless trash mob hits whoosh by you instead of dinging off of you,
Expected nerfs:
- Spectral Throw [done]
- Scion Nodes [done]
- Scion dialogue [ggg plz]

dont know if ny1 already posted it but stacking to much armour is bad...when u hit 15k+armour it becomes alot harder to achieve an extra 1% damage reduction so its important to balance the 2 as its not a case of wich ones better...but balancing both

Actually you are looking at armor wrong. Ignore the % reduction tootlip, it doesn't mean shit. Armor % Reduction Equation: Armor/(Armor+(12*Damage)).

4000 damage with 10000 armor
10000/(10000+(12*4000))=10000/58000= 17.2% reduction = 690 damage reduced = you take 3310 damage.

4000 damage with 15000 armor
15000/(15000+(12*4000))=15000/63000= 23.8% reduction = 952 damage reduced = you take 3047 damage.

So the question at this point is, can you get 260 hp as easily as 5k armor at this point?

Stacking armor can be pretty effective, so can stacking health. One is not always better than the other. Balance your freaking character.

invest in evasion nodes and gear and acrobatics cluster = less hp, less armor, less ES. common sense

I have no idea what you said in your last sentence, but sounds like scrubcore talk coming from a scrubcore player.
