All I know is, when I'm standing there casting, not moving, and then the server suddenly moves me half a screen away into a pack full of guys I was bombing a second before....
Someone's netcode needs work. It's "predictive modeling" is shit when under stress.

Desync in this game is the worst i ever seen in an ARPG title. Period.

Give the server full control. I'll take 250ms of lag over this harebrained predictive nonsense any day. It's not like you have to be agile in this game.

That's not that unreasonable to suggest. I have often watched a game during development and later decided not to get that game because the developers made decisions I didn't like. If you don't like the decisions the developers made, then quitting is a reasonable approach.
The problem is that you seem to see desync as a problem to fix. However, the large amount of desync is actually the result of a decision. Basically, GGG had to choose between cheating and desync. A decision that would minimize desync would increase cheating and vice versa. In the end, GGG chose desync over cheating.
Compare PoE with Diablo 2. D2 had way less desync when it was released, but there was a lot of duping and various hacks (like tradehack) that had a huge impact on the economy. Meanwhile, PoE has a lot more desync, but as far as I know, nobody has yet been able to dupe an item.
Desync is not a problem GGG haven't fixed yet, it's a result of GGG choosing it over letting people cheat. If you disagree with that decision, then quitting is a viable option. Of course, you can also choose to keep playing anyway, either way is fine.
The reason you receive hostile replies may partially be because you don't acknowledge that there's a trade-off between desync and cheating. GGG cannot drastically reduce desync without either allowing people to cheat or making other huge compromises like removing collision detection.

You have it little bit wrong. We can argue that cheating in PoE is harder then it was in D2 but it is still possible. I can still write a bot to farm or do sometihng else which I can exploit (very easy stuff). Yes it is harder but not impossible.
I understand GGG is small company but they cannot ignore the problem (we dont need new content now, we have enough for few weaks we need fixes). I am not here long enough. I started to play in july I think so I obviously cannot make objective statements about dysync and how bad it was before. I think it is little bit better now but is still there more often then it should be. If they cannot hire somebody why not outsoruce the work to some software comapny with better net developing experience or try to find another solution? Why they spend big money on CDN network if we can live with torrents. At least many of us I believe can. I would rather see those money be spend on fixing the desync and optimize the game engine. Or just make new microtransaction called fix desync so we can directly send you money to fix that problem it will be interesting to see how many bucks GGG will get that way. Meantime I still enjoy this game even if I am not playing that much as before.

Compare PoE with Diablo 2.
Compare PoE with D3 - also no cheating but also no desync. And there is way more actions on the screen and to calculate for the server. I cant even imagine playing a WW Barb in PoE with Killingblows and Massacre Bonus in 3 digits. In D3 you start to notice some slight rubberbanding then - PoE you wouldn't even start to whirl and the server would stop responding properly.
Well, it´s actually quite the opposite. In D3, there are no collisions to calculate, wether it be between player and mobs, or between mobs themselves. There is no dodge mechanics in place. Mobs can freely walk "trough" each other. Melee attacks in D3 always hit, as opposed to PoE, where you can physically dodge enemy´s attacks. And that´s only a fraction of why, there is much more "action happening" in PoE.
Edit:What´s wrong with the quote function? O.o

There is very little trade-off between desync and cheating. The people who suffer are the legit players, as usual, while the cheaters still prosper. And, please stop pretending and stating as fact that there are no cheats in PoE when Google works perfectly fine to completely and utterly debunk that notion.
That is the issue. You basically did EXACTLY what I said, but at least in a nicer manner: you came to GGG's rescue to tell me to quit because I dont like desync or the reasons its there because I know better.
The people who actually cheat could care freakin less about desync; they are cheating and are cheating now because where there is a will, there is always a way, and people are cheating as we speak; the only people suffering are posters like me getting lag killed playing legit and not scroll-hacking/map-hacking/botting/multi-boxing/RMTing/whatever that is going on right now.
I can and will continue to post my displeasure with Desync like I always have because it should not be that bad, and the explanations for it make little sense, and are merely excuses anyways. Their set-up does not stop cheating. Period.
