eternal lotteries = scam

"
1.You give your eternal to the host
2.They eternal current state of it (imprint #1)
3.They exalt hit the desired mod, make an imprint of it (imprint #2)
4.They use imprint #1 to reverse current state
5.They exalt for some other random mods and link that one
6.Wait sometime and profit with imprint #2.

Don't be stupid and fall for these scams. There is a huge chance these lotteries are bogus, and I haven't seen anybody won anything. GGG have no reasons to ban lotteries since most people don't even know they were scammed.

edit: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/564619 this guy offered 300 exalts price for his lottery last week. I think over 200 people donated but the host said noone was able to get the mod so he used some of his own, and got it. I'm not saying he's a scammer but he only used a few eternals and got it. Seems like he could have used this trick.

Item affix spawn rate:

The best tier mods's spawn chance is less than 1 in 1000. So if you participate in eternal lotteries for the best mods you should get at the minimum 1000 eternals in prize. Some crafters know this and try to scam you with smaller prize.

It is monumentally stupid to accuse people of scamming when you only have your imagination to go on for evidence.
it's monumentally stupid that people need to be told these are scams.
