I got Titan Quest recently in the THQ humble bundle and I just can't get into it. I stopped playing at level 10... POE definitely stole my attention. As for TL2, I like it and I think the actual combat is faster paced and can be more fun than POE at times, but I still find myself wanting to play POE more.

" Well when I've said I've never heard of it, it really means I've never seen the game personally, never seen gameplay, and don't know anything about it. IGN: Shominaminoto

I was a total junkie for TQ's mix of loose mythology usage and the dual class system. Oh, and that hilarious physics engine. ^_^
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

I'm not much of an action RPG player. I have played D2, D3 and TL2 but I don't have the patience to go through the same content over and over again so I did one play through for each.
Instead of comparing this game to those action rpgs let me instead compare it to the games I did play hardcore back in the day. Most relevant of which are Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X. It is pretty obvious that the developers of PoE were inspired by the character progression systems in those games, and I'm glad they were because Final Fantasy games in general have awesome character progression systems in place and I've always longed for a day when those systems would be implemented in an mmorpg. That day has finally come. For those who did not play FFVII and FFX the systems in place for PoE should seem fairly novel, but infact they are almost carbon copies of the Sphere Grid system in FFX(Passive Tree) and the Materias in FFVII(gems). This is not a bad thing! I loved that the devs decided to incorporate those systems as they were two of my favorites from the FF series. IGNs-

This thread reminded me of how much I love Titan Quest. My disk was damaged long ago, I think I might have to grab it off steam.
I've played Diablo, D2, Titan Quest, TL and TL2. For me POE is my favorite. While I really did enjoy D2, I never got into it very hard core. It was a fun, mindless click fest with a great atmosphere and story. Titan Quest really sucked me in and I played many, many different builds, but the static maps sort of killed the long term replayability for me. TL was a great little game for what it was. I had a lot of fun with it, but only played it for a couple months. I really thought I was going to love TL2 but I've actually played it less than I did TL. POE is the first game of this type that I've been able to take several characters to high content (maps in this case) and have so many more characters I want to try and am looking forward to taking them through the content again and again. I've probably got as much time dinking around with the skill tree in POE than I do playing TL2 to this point, and it's still in closed beta and I have yet to really get engrossed in ladder races. That (and PvP) is a whole new aspect I haven't even touched yet. There's so much potential for this game it's staggering. |

" Titan is the second best behind D2 >.> |

d2 is behind titan, hands down. All waht diablo has,it has it better.Leave all your eemotions aside, and titan has better soundtrack, enviroments, mechanics, dual classing(inventory sorting, again:P).Its way better in all aspects exept its inability to multiplay legaly.
Bye bye desync!

This game gives you the ability of looking at the passive tree, looking at the skill gems and looking at the support gems and say I want to try that!
I started with the skill spark and then ended up getting shock nova. I was losing mana way to much with nova so I decided to check out some support gems. I got fork. my sparks multiplied and I was like woah this is awesome. then I got a skill totem. and lightning penetration + conduit and projectile weakness. Now I reduce monsters resistance by something like 90% and there is a ton of little sparks all over the screen. And I am still building on it lol. If you have an imagination and want to play around with different styles this is the game. Last edited by heyyous#3285 on Dec 19, 2012, 9:55:02 PM
