Convince me why Armor + Iron reflexes beats acrobatics.
" Yup, you literally nerfed Cast on Damage Taken on yourself when you pull off those specs. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

While I personally favor Acrobatics/Guile in ranged builds, especially elemental ones (due to evading 95% of all your damage being better than mitigating it by 75% or less and the dodge being pure upside when you are EVA), Acrobatics costs a minimum of 6 skill points to use effectively and is not in an amazing spot on the tree.
That's a lot of investment. Imagine if you invested that the points saved by IR in five 8% hp nodes- that's 40% increased life. That's nothing to joke at. Read my book! Been running an Armor/Evasion hybrid spec on my current level 79 Scion right now and it is quite nice. Also using a 1-handed axe + shield combo with it and really the only thing that bothers me is elemental damage scaling, but then again, I am of the opinion that elemental damage on enemies needs to be toned down some. With both Grace and Determination up, around 52% block chance, and my current passive tree (not done yet), I have about 18,200 armor and 10,000+ Evasion, and around 4,700 life. Like I said, not totally finished speccing fully but by level 90 (if I ever get that far) I'll have over 5,000 life and closer to 60% block chance, so it's fairly tanky to say the least against almost all physical hits.
I'd LIKE to try a full on Evasion/Acrobatics build, but after playing around on this character and with this build...it makes Evasion/Acro look way, way, way too fragile even for me to want to justify making a character to test it out with. |

" This is simply not true. Blocked damage still counts towards the proc, spells also count towards it. I have no problem maintaining endurance charges as an acrobatics/block ranger. IGNs:

" Meant to say if you pull of the specs with pure Evasion w/o block, you will rarely ever trigger CoDT. Should had corrected the poster I quoted too. Edit: Still, I am not 100% sure about it, but I know w/o block it definitely is difficult to trigger CoDT. Because you can take IR and utilize blind(I use CWTD-Firestorm-Blind)

Oh, and not taking IR is a no-brainer if you're using AoF or The Goddess Scorned.

For me personally, I've never liked RNG based defense in any game I've ever played. That being said, I'm currently leveling a crit/evasion build to see how things go later on.
On a general note, PoE tends to be a very spiky game damage wise, and things happen very fast. All it takes is one string of bad RNG and you are toast, which is why I generally prefer damage done to me to be less spiky. It's just easier to manage the flow of your game when the damage you are taking is more predictable. It's just like being a healer in an MMO, trying to heal avoidance based characters is always much harder than trying to heal mitigation characters, because of the large fluctuation of damage spikes, and the unpredictable nature of having an RNG based defense. |

Atm it doesnt. I highly recommend it in HC only problem is its gonna cost alot more points and you need abit more life then IF builds.
So if you can manage to do that its borderline op |
