To me it just feels as if everyone basically is saying your first play through is to simply farm a currency for future characters.

More like it's to begin to learn how everything in the game works so you can make your next character that much better. And yes, you will probably be making a lot more after that as well.

I will try to elaborate OP. It will probably be unsuccessful because it will contain things you probably don't want to hear.

This game is not to be confused with what you might think is an "MMO". (inb4 semantics)

For example, you get your character to a certain level and there is no real "end game" aside from running maps.

It isn't like you team up with X amount of people and go raid this boss for BoA loot. (or something of that nature).

This game is mostly around you creating multiple characters, trying and experimenting with various builds.

This isn't the only way to play the game mind you, you can play one character and level him as far as you want, just realize you will probably at some point get bored with that character.

Also, if you play casually you will probably never be rich unless you partake in RMT, or get very lucky with drops (And yes, RMT is not allowed in this game).

So what is the point of the game? I dunno, the answer varies, for me it is to make characters who I want to make and have fun with them.

EDIT: Oh and also, for reference, just try your character and see how far he makes it. You will probably hit a wall, but you will get a much deeper understanding of why, which will come in handy when you do reroll.

WTF THERES NO END GAMES OR RAIDS???

How is this even a valid video game? There is no point without end game and raids.

I appreciate the comments and Like I say I did not mean it to sound like I was bashing the game.

I did enjoy my time through normal, I dont normally play these type of dungeon crawlers (if thats what you class it as).

And I would say I probably just need more time to learn the game and the builds etc.

Does anyone know any good sites or guides for builds and understanding elements of the game?

And In no way did I say that I wanted it to be anything like wow, wow never even came up in the post.

I just meant it from a point of view of rpgs have a end, fps is usually to rank up and unlock the gear etc.

So I was just trying to get a idea of the overall goal in path of exile.

There's absolutely end game, in the form of maps, which you can group up with multiple people to run if you so wish.
