DIABLO III ?... HA! More like "DIABLO FAIL"

Sorry to disagree, but D3 is complety insane, worth the 49.99€
And every RPG looks like WoW, even the classes, belive me.
I cant say if POE is different because i cant get a key, but I will see in december.

I agree with the insane part

D3 didn't fail though. It sold so many millions of copies it was a financial success for Blizzard. It may not even hurt them too much in the long run, though I suppose it may have damaged their reputation a little among casuals.

I won't be surprised if the D3 expansion they announced has 50% retention? But then again, I'm kind of pessimistic about Heart of the Swarm's sales. I think they will be extremely disappointing, demonstrating less-hardcore fan's approval of SC2.

No, it wasn't. That's just what you remember, as we always remember the good and forget the bad. "Everyone" loved the good, old days of MS-DOS, yet none of us remember the loooong nights tweaking autoexec.bat and confis.sys just a bit more, to get that one, list driver into the right part of the memory. Everyone loved the golden age of adventure games with Day of the tentacle, Indy & The fate of Atlantis, Full Throttle etc, yet none of us remembers being stuck for ages even trying to run the darn things, or being stuck on a silly puzzle we just couldn't figure out.

As soon as I got to the char. screen I immediately thought "FFS! they changed the char classes!".. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!..

Again, you didn't realize this until now? Are you kidding me? And no, they didn't change the classes as much as much as you think. All they did was rename them and update their skills a bit. The barbarian is the same as before. We don't have a sorceress, but the wizard does the same thing, and so on.

I seriously hope Path of Exile doesn't go the direction "Diablo Fail" is going.

What direction is that? Selling more than ever, making it one of their most successful games in their entire career? A game so successful they have already confirmed not only the first expansion, but also Diablo 4?

For now I'll go download the ORIGINAL Diablo 1 and re-live the glory days when they made games for the joy of gaming, not money.

Neither of you should be talking in absolutes as if you speak for everyone who ever played D1. That being said I have to agree that Diablo 1 felt more dark and evil than the other Diablo games or even Path of Exile. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was that made it like that for me. Could partially be the excellent sound effects/music, and the fact that its all underground in dark passages/caverns that looks gritty and bloody with impaled bodies all over the place.

I played Diablo 1 for a very very long time. Don't try to tell me that I don't remember it correctly. I couldn't get the art/music/sound effects out of my head if I lived to be 500 years old.

Are you also going to pretend that Diablo 3's financial success wasn't due to the reputation of the franchise?

There is no announcement of Diablo 4 that I know of. Are we just making up supposed "facts" now?

Reach level 60 in Diablo III guys. That's the time you'll say "WTF is this?!! I need a refund!"

The sad part is we waited the game for a decade that we expected so much from the game.
After it was released, bought it, played it, and dang... just found out yourself and you'll feel me brah

Website is restarting and I'm heading to work, so I'll make this quick:

1. Diablo 1 was not dark and evil. That's not my opinion, that's a fact. If you don't believe me, check screenshots or, even better, play the game and see for yourself.

2. I didn't say anything why Diablo 3 is a major success, and honestly, it doesn't mastter. All that matters is that it is, and will continue to be. I was as disappointed as you when it was released. Maybe even more, even. But so what? I'm old enough to be happy for Blizzard because of it, and after testing the game again a few days ago, I'll be the first to say they have done a lot of great stuff to make it better since launch. You even get loot now, making the AH much less a requirement, and more of a choice. Diablo 3 wasn't perfect at launch, and it never will be. But just because they launched it, it didn't mean they finished working on it and improving it. ;) My advice is play Path of Exile like the rest of us when it's relased, then come back to Diablo 3 in six months, a year or so and see how the game is by then. Chances are you'll be positivly surprised. ;)

And as for Diablo 4, they haven't used that name yet, as far as I know. But even before Diablo 3 was out, they confirmed that Diablo 3 was not the last game. Again, in a hurry, so here's a quick link:

It's the end of the Diablo-trilogy, but not the end of the franchise. And c'mon, the franchise has been a huge success, so why wouldn't they make more games? Even Diablo 3 took over a decade to make, so Diablo 4 will happen one day.

This is where you and I are going to disagree the most. That is absolutely not a fact and I am shocked to see you try to defend that. Its obviously an opinion. In MY opinion Diablo 1 had a more dark and evil feeling in the game than any other ARPG that I have played. You can disagree all you want thats fine, but you definitely can't tell me that I am wrong. Thats like me saying "I think Christiana Aguilerra is hot", then you say "No bro its a fact that she is not hot".

Diablo 3 was obviously a financial success but IN MY OPINION it failed because it has hurt the reputation of the Diablo franchise. I am only guessing that there won't be nearly as many people buying the next Diablo game Day 1 as Diablo 3 because of all of its issues. It doesn't look like you were nearly as disappointed as me in Diablo 3. I seriously cringe at even thinking about ever playing it again. I continue to stay up to date on how the game is doing but I don't think I could bring myself to really play it again.

Of course I agree that more Diablo games are likely to be made. I just wanted to point out that nothing has been announced yet.
