is IR really necesary?

Hi everyone.
Im looking for a build and i have seen that everyone that allocate pasive points more or less near Iron reflexes pick this keynode. As far as i know it only allow you to use evasion or mix arm/ev gear instead of pure armor gear. Why everyone pick it? (specially scions) You cant be competitive only with pure armor gear? Because you can use the Grace aura with it and get a ton of evasion to turn into armor. Also, it opens up more options for armor, you can use basically any armor with IR.

Because that 1 time you dont evade a big hit, you die.

It's a secret that evasion is actually many times more effective at mitigating damage than armor is... So, those of us who rock evasion to the max will tell you, "Yes! When you fail to evade, you die! Also, WTB 6L evasion chest for 1 chaos."

thats because IR helps greatly getting enough armour to withstand bleed, thats the main reason i usually pick up IR, lategame if you are able to get at least 10k armour without IR, you should respec out of IR and that way your mitigation will become even higher.
Pure evasion itself is only viable for those who use arctic armour(without any armour or using artic armour skill u will end up getting killed from bleed) |

Many people think evasion sucks (it doesn't), so they take IR since it converts evasion to armor. It opens up more options for using armor and gets rid of a stat those people weren't using anyway.
