The 9/10 on Diablo 3 is supported by the +12M copies sold and +2M daily average players for the first year of the game. The hating minority is just a tiny drop on the ocean .. most of the haters are all here on these forums.

The internet says it's an 8.5-9/10 game.

Well, eurogamer Italy gave it a 9.0. Also, most reviews have scored 8.0 and upwards, so Eurogamer is just probably just pissy about free ARPGS. Either that or the reviewer is a blizzard fan.

D3 sold 4.7M copies on day one ---> boosted by D2 popularity im sure

What about the other +7M copies? The game kept selling and selling even after all the "bad" popularity and bad reviews ... so maybe ..just maybe the game isnt as bad people here say.

Numbers cant lie and that many cant be wrong.

Hey nothing against CoD.

CoD is the only game the word fuck and cunt loses importance because most kids use it 30 up to 50% of the time.

I remember some hilarious video a ~11-12 year old kid crying:"How do ya dare.. How the fuck do ya dare to fucking kill me you fucking motherfucking cuntbitch"


You tend to forget that Atari, Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard and other bigger companies are paying review sites for good reviews.

And of course the newest Ads are featuring the newest game of those companies.

Why do you think CoD has an average playerbase of <20 years? Because they fall for marketing.

The more marketing a game uses on certain genres with a short development time the more you must suspect buying a failure of a product.

And many series are just trying to become mainstream.

Look what happened to Resident Evil.
While I would have loved to see 3.5 RE4 was still a really good game(unpatched unmodded PC Port aside)
And then came RE5 which was nothing but a brainless shooter and RE6 even made it worse and it's just like CoD.

Yet it got high ratings from the most corrupt Reviewpages.

Dunno about the universe, maybe there's an alien ARPG masterrace, but it sure is the best ARPG on the planet :) Pretty much every other review is better than 7/10, so PoE must be something special.

This is EXACTLY what I think about the game.

I see it is a completely free game, that's got me as hooked as D2 did when I originally played that, and the potential is crazy. It's free, it's a small dev team and in gaming terms a tiny budget - yet look what they've achieved!

So many aspects are BETTER than D2; the customisation is just, mental. Yes, there might be some standard, obvious builds (which is a good thing) - but you can pretty much build whatever you want and have fun with it.

It's immersive, it's rewarding and it's extremely deep!

But I'm realistic in what I expect from games, and how I see games. Just because I play it constantly doesn't mean I think it's a 10/10 game. I'd perhaps edge it towards 8/10 but 10/10 suggests it couldn't be any better. It could, and I've every confidence it will be!

I think right now, PoE and Torchlight 2 are about equal.
TL2 got 8.7/10 user reviews (I actually gave it a 9), and PoE should get about 8.5/10 because of net-related problems and optimization which can be better. maybe as low as 8/10, but not lower.
still, TL2 holds an "unfair" advantage of being offline-based.
PoE is the best online-based ARPG at the moment.
it's also the peak of ability for a company the size of GGG.

D3 has a smoother technical side, and a bit better graphics - but it's utter garbage in everything else. maybe "Reaper Of Wallets" will make it better, I don't know.
