Eurogamer POE review, 7/10

"
who enjoy the challenges when you aren't in the action, PoE is fucking awesome; for those who just want to dive in, the focus on planning and preparation can be frustrating.

And once you reach endgame the skilltree doesn't matter anymore only the EQ does.

He finished normal in OB. If he got further there would be more critical points.
I cant believe people taking that shit seriously we all know they are being payed by EA and activision to rate all there games high. Blizzard proberly payed them to downrate the game this is how this corrupt business work
@LeninGHOLA you killed me x)

@ScrotieMcB : I did not even read the review, thanks for sharing.

Keep in mind that Eurogamer uses a different grading scale than most sites.

From their site:
10/10 - Phenomenal
9/10 - Excellent
8/10 - Very good
7/10 - Good
6/10 - Above average
5/10 - Average
4/10 - Below average
3/10 - Bad
2/10 - Atrocious
1/10 - Bloody atrocious

A 70% on IGN means mediocre. A 7/10 on Eurogamer means it's a good game. Getting upset that the reviewer didn't think it was amazing seems silly; Path of Exile definitely isn't for everyone.

If it is the best then why do more people play D3?

Best argument ever. At last I truly see. Belieberbronies unite!
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Seemed more like a first impressions than a review.
I've given GGG a lot of shit, but that review is pure bullshit. PoE is a top notch ARPG in the same league as Diablo 2. It's a good game. Not perfect, but not a fucking 7/10...
7/10 seems fair overall, clunkiness and all.

Mind you, the target market of Eurogamer is of hobbyist gamers that buy, play then chuck games like disposable toilet paper. Those with massive Steam libraries of 10000000s games that they buy then play for only 20 minutes. This mag is not meant for the long term gamer, it is for these gaming nomads. Something I was before I found POE :P

I'm expecting the similar Australian magazine PCPowerplay to give a similar score. Frankly I'm disappointed PCPP didn't give POE ample coverage for the past 2 years. Only a cursory 2 page spread 5 months ago, with a picture of the skill tree, that's it. So disappointing. Not even a full cover spread. They just focus on big budget AAA titles, in the same vein as EG, and PCPP's apparent support for indie titles simply seems fake and superficial.

AAA titles sells these types of magazines, not indies.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

9/10 for diablo 3 on 21-may-2012 when enemies one shot you

7/10 is pretty generous for this game, and not a bad score by any account.

How anyone can figure this game to be more than 7/10 is beyond me.

1. Fairly bad graphics that look really dated, and have that horrible 'everything is too shiny and plastic looking' ala oblivion.

2. Clunky and awkward looking character animations.

3. Clunky and disconnected combat feel.

4. Quite a few skill/ability targeting problems. Cones don't hit what they are aimed at etc.

5. Uninspired character and armor design.

Playing this game feels like your walking around in wooden shoes that are 2 sizes too big for you.

/shrug. I'd give it a 6/10, and I think that's being fairly generous.
