Eurogamer POE review, 7/10
Lol, look at the rating differences:
http://www.eurogamer.it/articles/2013-10-24-videogiochi-path-of-exile-recensione-review Eurogamer.net is embarassing themselves with that review. Even the unprofessional sites which reviewed the game in beta gave it more score. So far the reviews are looking good in favor of GGG: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/path-of-exile Last edited by Nightmare90#4217 on Oct 25, 2013, 11:47:41 AM

I think where the 3 points were lost in this reviewer's opinion were quite easy to spot from what he said:
-1 = Doesn't know why he's killing stuff other than to find loot. -1 = The loot is about number variety rather than object variety and the numbers don't necessarily match to logic, such as the hats which help find loot which he exampled. -1 = This concept is then carried over to monster type, which has wide number variety, but little differential variety. Which all assists in increasing the game's boredom factor, but it doesn't bore too much and is, essentially, pretty good. D3 has a lot of lore in it. You stop at regular intervals to read stuff and talk to people if you want to know what's going on, which is probably why D3 got a better score, because these particular reviewers prefer a more whole experience. In this respect, PoE does feel like an incomplete and more work in progress kind of game. |

"cause lol different ppl have different opinions stop decrying the website just cause he didnt like the game as much |

" It isn't only about the opinion. I know that opinions are shit. It is about the journalistic effort. Just compare both reviews. |

I don't mind people having negative opinions about PoE if they actually put time in the game and got some good overall knowledge. I enjoy reading criticism when someone can present a good argument about what they specifically don't like.
But this is just a bad joke. Some guy played a ranger until level 7 and wrote a full game review. legit journalism right there |

" That one has a higher score, but it is not the release version of the game. They are also using a screenshot of the old POE skill tree and no Scion is visible in character selection (although that could be because she's hidden behind the Marauder's not insubstantial bulk). |

" My guess is that .it started research for the review before the Release patch, in order to shoot out a review with a solid foundation in time. It is not that bad if you just want to showcase the main features and faults of the game. Maybe it was even written by someone who played the game extensively before. " Yep, they need some cinematics in this game and better storytelling, because people are missing the storyline all together. I said as much in another thread a while back and all the GGG nuthuggers got their panties in a wad over it. You can't expect people to hunt down the storyline, you have to present it to them. That said, I'd give PoE an 8. Its a great game, but ultimately hurt by its many glaring flaws. IGN: Standard: Feugue, Domination: KaomsDisciple

" I'm not so sure about that. The "story telling" in Diablo 3 was shoved in my face at every turn in the most amateurish way possible, and it started to grate. Cinematics are very expensive to make, but I agree that they are nice to have. At the moment they are out of GGG's budget range. Maybe in time when they get enough money from micro-transactions and fix net-code issues first they might be able to make something for us. |

Ahh irrelevant people's opinions.
I am glad I have never taken reviewers seriously (for better or for worse). |
