Character names clashing

Just want to chime in and say i hope they never "remove inactive accounts" !

I really like the EVE approach where i can reactivate after a few years and still have all my stuff, even if i havent played for ~2 years there will come a day when i return and im glad logi 5 is already waiting for me ;)

Perhaps a compromise where after a year of inactivity on an ACCOUNT, the names on the account are again available WITHOUT deleting the characters. Any names that get used by someone else get replaced by a numerical placeholder on the inactive character. If the account owner ever comes back to the game they will need to give new names to any characters whose names were taken.

Yes, you came back to the game and your name is gone, which sucks... but your characters are still there to be played. Good compromise to me.

No. Because I plan on getting several characters to 100.

I already have all their names. Just because I don't play them for a year or two doesn't.mean I should forfeit their names. Pick something else.

This is why my compromise was based on the activity of the account and not just the character. Yes, I feel that if you don't use the account for a year or more then someone else should have the opportunity to use the name.

I was fine with the idea because I usually pick names that are uncommon but today when I try to create a new char I see that somebody took Prajnaparamita, come on man, how the hell that happened.
