OP Legacy Uniques are the worst decision i've seen from the devs thus far
Can we get a ranking of players who have stockpiled the most koams heart?
Not even their igns. just a count of koams per account. IGN: Arlianth

" Pretty much...IT is unfortunate because I would play the 4 month leagues, but I would just end up back in OP standard with the "legacy" players afterwards. MY standard characters use a lot of the legacy items and I just dont feel like it would be fair to play them when others cant use the same things. |

" We understand that this is the situation; that's why we're unhappy! They abolished legacy leagues. Standard and HC should not become the new legacy leagues. If they want a dumpster league for imbalanced items, they should bring back the separate legacy leagues. A lot of us enjoy playing in the permanent leagues, so telling us "just play new leagues" to resolve the legacy items issue is basically saying "accept that, for the way you play the game, 1.0 is a huge step backward and will make the game substantially less enjoyable." I'm not sure which I like less between starting over in a temporary league and planning to do that every 4 months, and just dealing with the presence of legacy items, but both of them suck. PvP is also a huge issue. Getting a well geared, high level character to participate in competitive PvP is a big time investment. For those of us with not a ton of time to play, a 4 month league simply won't give us the chance to gear up for PvP in a reasonable amount of time and then enjoy our geared PvP toons. I'll spend most of my time re-leveling and grinding items, just to have a couple weeks at the end of each 4 month league where I can actually compete. I've been playing PoE since CB, planning to play competitive PvP in default/standard as soon as competitive PvP is implemented. Legacy endgame uniques are a HUGE problem for comp PvP balance, and there's no way to have a permanent character and stash without being in a legacy-infested league. |

I don't get some people... Explain to me this: Assuming that Legacy "OP" unique are restricted in PVP and people using them are only doing so against monsters.
How does this affect you? <<< The economy? You don't think there were items going around for 100ex before this patch?. I am very sorry to burst everyone's bubble here but the economy is broken to a large extent. This patch was not going to change that without the help of a full character wipe. So please explain to me BESIDES PVP, why is everyone crying about it? <<< I would really like to understand this better, seeing as though there hasn't been many good arguments put forward. Anyhow, Hope everyone is pumped for Release :) New Leagues are going to be awesome! Keep well ;) |

I agree with OP. Introducing legacy items is only okay when they are actually shit. Having a few unobtainable (by playing) items that are very strong is complete crap.

" Its not ok to balance the game without actually balancing the game. How is that hard to understand? Game balance effects everyone. Standard Forever

how can you assume they'll restrict legacy uniques to pvp? there's absolutely no mention of that in the patch notes. Pvp will only be popular in Legacy League cause 4 month ladder is too short to sustain a healthy community because most players don't have enough time to get enough currency to create pvp specific chars.
the whole problem with legacy uniques is PVP in the 1st place. pvp will be infested by legacy stuff and either u have these items or u're out of the scene. the best way to express that u're upset is to vote with your wallet. i for one won't be purchasing anything to support game in its current state. |

I would guess that they will restrict Kaoms in pvp. I would think....

" This is a very good point. Between this and the encouragement to use RMT (both for selling and buying legacy items) I really think we have a strong argument here. I'm curious if we'll get a direct response about their decisions. They stated around the time of the Silverbranch episode that they *could* retro-nerf existing uniques, but it wasn't deemed worth the trouble for that item. I agreed, but now, do they really expect Standard/Hardcore players to put up with the sheer amount of legacy items being introduced? Every shield in existence is now legacy, every ES shield is especially going to be valuable, the list of extremely powerful uniques... I just don't get it. If you nerf every Kaom's to the new one, I bet it'll still sell for 40+ Exalted. So those who own them aren't exactly being robbed. For a company that really has some great logic and problem solving skills, I just don't see how they expect this to not piss off a million people. EDIT: So, Launch day, I get a few of my friends to join. I bet they are gonna see items like Kaom's and Shav's in chat. "Dude! Those are really interesting! When do they start dropping? Act Bosses in Merciless?" Then I get to say, "No, actually, they don't drop anymore. You can only find shittier, nerfed versions of them now. If you want one of those you have to RMT 300 exalted orbs. Sorry man." That is gonna be the point that I start seeing them not login anymore. I know it sounds dramatic, but a lot of people have issues with the principle of legacy items. Team Won Last edited by ggnorekthx#0419 on Oct 22, 2013, 1:24:42 PM
