No power trading / flipping so that only the rich get richer would be the point.
All players in a SFL league would be playing on a much fairer basis. Finding / crafting / owning godly gear on SFL would be vastly more rewarding than just trading for all the best gear.
More rewarding and vastly harder, even with buffed drop rates.

This argument has poor logic. Where would any of the temporary hardcore leagues go then after they end?? To default? It's just not comparable to a SFL in such regard.

imho, all this demand for Self-Found league stems from the (current) terrible implementation of trading, and the fact that people (myself included) just can't tolerate it.
I'd use a well-implemented, sensibly-designed automated trading post tomorrow if it was available, but I've joined the trade channel precisely one time - just so I can say that I stared into the abyss.

Yes, it is completely comparable to sfl.
Both hardcore and SFL are smaller groups(I assume) that want separate leagues to play. Both groups COULD play in softcore exactly how they play now. Its exactly the same.

The problem is that argument about how hardcore players cant play softcore cause they cant trade with only other hardcores is true of a self found players ability to group as well.
Chris totally missed this in his argument against sfl - SFL does not = solo, and you cant group with people and maintain the purity of SF because you cant know the others dont trade.
Just like a hardcore player couldnt buy loot safely in softcore because the loot could come from people who die.
