So after playing diablo 3, despite its many flaws, I think its definitly the better game

Guys if you ever write such a long post, and you spect someone to actually read it, I can tell that you are depressed and not in your senses. The topic was irrelevant, many people here have 10+ years playing arpg, online games and mmo. Alot have more experience than this guy. And yet for some reason we have the option between playing D3 or PoE (and take a guess what we are doing).

D3 is a good game. Some haters can say it is not because the AH, but to be sincere both games suffer with the power of money. In Diablo 3 a unfair player buys things with real money in AH, the same player can buy orbs in RMT sites to PoE. It´s impossible to avoid, every good game atract RMT sites, they sell PoE orbs because the game is a sucess!
I prefer PoE because the maps and the mix of spells and supports. But I really realize that D3 has some advantages like no desync and a easy way to trade (I only trade with gold of the game in D3). The boring part of Diablo 3 is that you don´t have maps and need to farm the same places all time.

I love PoE and I think D3 totally sucks. But this does not change the fact that PoE is doing some things very VERY wrong, and only trying to fix the symptoms, not the reasons behind the problems.

PoE needs to fix a few things about the game mechanics that restrics builds.

Melee is too risky in all fields: Molten Shell, suicide mobs, Kole/Brutus, Bear/ Golem Crits, getting close to dock dogs, chargers etc etc.

Result players making their melee with almost all passive dedicated to life nodes and armor.

It is so bad that to fix evasion survival, the solution GGG could find was turning all evasion into armor. And now they are softening the damage with mana shield, and making spectral weapons skill which will turn all melee chars into range chars.

This is the diversity in PoE: Either have shitloads of life/ES with little else of anything, or become a range char.

Just remove one shot hits from the game, cap them to %95 of max life. And diversity will open up again.


Of course lets not forget everyone spams a single skill only, as it is very hard to have multiple skills with enough supports. I would like to see need for using different types of attacks in fight, but right now the most diverse thing I do with my melee chars is switching "melee splash support" with "added fire damage" or "damage on full life" gems before boss fights.

Thats a lot of pointless wordage there.

Maybe one day people will realize that the AH wasn't the real problem. It was the itemization.

This is so true... They screwed up the items... They had D2 to build off of and they still screwed up the freaking items...
