i think it gives the wrong impression of what the game will be like, and in addition GGG have stated they hate being called an MMO, so why shouldn't it be fixed?

They said specifically they hate being called a "MMORPG". Many people when they see the genre MMORPG instantly think something like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2, and Path of Exile is not that kind of game. When you see ARPG, most people think Diablo and Torchlight.

Although you don't typically see it, MMO can be attached to other genre types too. I consider PoE to be both a MMO and ARPG.

Guild wars 1 is also considered an MMO. The only major difference between PoE and GW1 is the camera position.

I probably should've been more clear about my annoyances. You mentioning it so that Chris can yell at Steam is fine, I'm more surprised at people bickering over what genre each and every game is and why Poe can't possibly be considered an MMO because they have some sort of huge issue with the term.

Sorry if I seemed dramatic, we're supposed to go with our strengths lol.

I consider it an Action Role-Playing Game, in the sense of other games like Torchlight and Diablo (top-down view kill monsters sort of deal). I don't consider it a Role-Playing Game in the sense of World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 (3D camera view, Raids, etc).

The article you linked said that GGG doesn't like PoE to be called a MMORPG, they didn't say anything about MMOARPG, or even MMO itself (although I can't really speak for GGG's intentions; that's just how I see it).

Although, just to be specific to please you, I guess PoE is an RPG since it does share a role-playing element.

In any case, the topic is about PoE being listed as an MMO. Has nothing to do with the RPG part, nor is it listed as a MMORPG even...
