Scion unlocking: how will you do it?

Then they should not provide an incentive to their player base to do so. if they dangle a cookie just behind A3x normal then they should not be surprised when players streamroll it for the cookie.

The obvious solutions would be to either require the unlock per league (forcing even old timers to unlock in the 4 month leagues) or put the unlock behind merciless (making it an all but impossible unlock for casual players).

it is the player's choice whether they want to play through it as if it was there first time or smite down dominus with the force of a god.

ggg should not force the player to do anything.

I don't want to run all game only to unlock new class.

Personally? I'm not going to even get the Scion unless I have to, or unless I come up with a bizarre build that would only work that way. Or, y'know, if they lock Maps and other difficulties away behind whatever you have to do to access the Scion; in which case I'll just steamroll it like the asshole I am (or get eaten by it in Merciless because I'm not exactly good at this game).

Because as awesome as the lore, story, and atmosphere are, I don't think blasting through the new content is going to spoil things for me NEARLY as much as various other facets of the release are going to.

A I understood Chris' interview the Scion will be unlockable by FINDING her late in act three. This seems to imply that it is not simply unlocking her by beating Dominus(like most people here seem to be indicating) and also that it might not be something that happens right away. You might have to do very specific things to unlock her that are not done as a normal playthrough, or maybe she spawns in a rare area or something.

But if you unlock Scion, you will have to level it and learn A3X troughfully 3 times before getting her to end-game past tutorial.

I'm quite interested in leveling Scion, but if I have to level 11th character just to unlock Scion to be my 12th character... it would be quite a "meh".

I assume that I just finish A3X Merciless with my all alts (all 77th lvl) unlock Scion by occasion and next level Scion.

It's an odd move by GGG, when Chris is clearly appealing to players not to do that -- when it's the easiest way to unlock the major new feature.

The whole intention behind making Scion unlockable was so new players could learn the game before tackling a class that probably requires more advanced insight into making it effective. That doesn't apply to people who already got multiple characters end game. Anyone who has gotten to that point feels like they've earned the new class.

I'll probably finish the A3X content on merciless first on one of my higher levels. Unsure if I'll be able to unlock Scion on merciless or not, or if I'll have to play normal. I'm hoping for some higher level zones to farm for exp, hopefully some zones that are 75+. Then 90 will be the new 80.

i really hope she becomes unlockable account wide!!The reason for this is that i really dont wanna lose time with Nemesis , if the leagues were release like 2 hours after 1.0 i would definetely try act 3x with a whole new char but you know :/. Anyway Chris i swear i am not even going to have a look to the new areas :P 5 quicksilvers looking to the minimap only and oneshoting DOM so i will surely be suprised with my kewl scion :D. Ya dawgs you know i already have a scion build in mind for every possible tree change they can make :P
