kaoms and shavronne nerf?

Proof that Kaom's Heart and other other OP items might become Legacy items. It's a good thing I saved a few of most of the top-end gears. Anyways, check page 2 of what Chris said...

Old Kaom's will be 1000 hp
New Kaom's will be less than 1000 hp... but he did use the word "Generally", so there's a chance old ones get nerfed, too. However, there's also a chance the old ones become legacy according to Chris' statement.

People seem to think kaoms is getting nerfed and shavronne. The other half seems to think current items will be legacy and new drops will be nerfed. And then you have some selling kaoms for 3 mirrors. I find it funny, this chicken little the sky is falling crap but I would like to know what started it. I doubt GGG is going to rip up The end game after people farmed for months to afford the items but who knows.

I don't think... I based my assumptions off of what Chris himself said. People have a very good reason now to believe that Kaom's Heat will become Legacy. Chris himself even said it might become legacy. Proof is in the thread. Now, I know people who have spent a fortune buying their Kaom's Hearts, and I know other players would be mad about people getting to keep their Legacy item. I think that if they decide to nerf all of the Kaom's hearts, they could add an option to people who have the old Kaom's heart to get 35 x pure exalts on standard from an npc if they decide that their new 'nerfed' version is no longer worth their investment (they've even sold for higher than this lately). If they did this, it would be win/win on both sides--for those who bought a Kaom's heart before the nerf, and for those who didn't buy a Kaom's heart already.

I'm just hoping new leagues omit them like they did Kaom's from Onslaught/Anarchy; they needn't alter the values any, just completely leave them out. That way HC/Standard can still have them and use them, but those of us in the new leagues don't have reason to bemoan them being "OP"

Note: by "them" I mean Kaom's, Shav's, LG, Soultaker, stuff like that. I'm also hoping for a slight nerf to Facebreakers (which are a tad absurd) but with them to still be included.

It's less rude to nerf items, skills or builds when there's a new set of four month leagues starting (with a free passive reset). Definitely still rude, but the best time to do it if it has to be done. Having said that, we're very mindful to cause minimal disturbance.

Here is the rub. You are not getting any commitment from Chris on anything. He is just setting up the table by saying it won't hurt as bad if we do it when new leagues start. He learned from the government. Have you ever noticed messed up bills get passed on holiday weekends... Sorry I digressed.
and I have these uniques so its not a QQ about future cost or what have you. I just like to have an endgame goal and Kaoms/Shavronne have been it from the beginning.

I hate the game having OP uniques but I hate the idea of legacy uniques even more. Either nerf ALL of them or leave them alone. It doesn't fix your mistake to leave all the current ones in the game it just makes it worse.

that is not paradox at all... coz less orbs get used they increase their value?

also what does that even mean? currency's inflated value? compared to items? your mixing up the deflated price of commonly dropping rares/uniques (mudflation) with smth else. currency is currency, thats all (it would also be "worthless" w/o the many many sinks for it).


PS: on topic:

chris said on reddit that its unlikely those uniques get hit by a numerical nerf (or smth in that fashion). in other words: item stats will remain the same. when the nerf is game-mechanic-wise or skilltree-wise or whatever (what nerf lol? who invented this?) then the price of those items would drop. funny to see it currently rises coz people with alot of imagination but little litteracy panic :P

PPS: i bet some people made even more profit than usual by flipping these items lately :D

Edit: no point in having ideas that can work... guess we'd rather just let things go to heck...
