The shit uniques dropping in high lvl play serve the same function as light radius on gear.
To dilute the pool. That is all. Some may call them leveling uniques but really, using thos uniques you outlevel them incredibly fast. Their usefulness is only a couple hours really. After that they are just filler. Now consider how many uniques we have, almost 200, versus the number of uniques actively sought for in trade on a daily basis, like 7-8. If they were as awesome a people are claiming wouldnt more people be searching for them? |

I'm fairly sure that half these uniques only exist to encourage people to experiment with strange builds.

" Because "endgame" is not about farming until your eyes bleed. The idea is to get fairly high level, then roll an entirely new character - perhaps using some of the stuff you found with your previous characters. Ezomyte peak, and crown of thorns are the only two i can't build with. But the rest linked in this thread could be very useful from leveling to endgame, (assuming you build around them properly.
I do agree that a good rare is better than most uniques. And just because you can't sell them doesn't make them bad, it just means the market is too saturated. Just imagine if a shav dropped as often as a perandus? It would be selling for a couple of chaos at best. There comes a time thief when jewels cease to sparkle, gold loses it's luster, throne room becomes a prison, and all that's left is a father's love for his child. - King Osric
