But it is still a possibility to keep in mind. More than enough people care about the looks of their character! And those people bring money to GGG and -may- need garbage uniques to finish their looks.

I did, you did, GGG definitely did.
But the sorts of people likely to complain about 'garbage uniques' and who in turn likely consider overpowered uniques as merely 'good' probably aren't the sorts of people to give many craps about aesthetics of their gear.
Could be wrong, but that's just my experience.
I am certainly not alone with my viewpoint on some of the "garbage" uniques.
