1. Magic find is needed to progress through end game.

This isn't true. My first onslaught character made it to end game, and was able to run level 77 maps with pretty shitty gear. You might think you need a Shavs, but you don't. It's a luxury, not a necessity.
What you say about Shavs is 100% true, but it's missing the point. The need for endgame MF stacking has nothing to do with gear requirements. Zero. It's all about amassing stacks of Chaos Orbs.

To progress through end game, you need maps to drop within maps. For maps to drop within maps, you need to throw currency at all the maps you run. In order to throw currency at all the maps you run, you need to extract maximum value from each map which you run, especially rare equipment to be used with the Chaos vendor formula and/or trading. In order to get lots of rare equipment to drop, you need to stack IIQ and IIR.

Additionally, running maps as part of a group splits the currency cost of maps among the entire party, making them much cheaper and easier to sustain.

Essentially how it breaks down is: If you try to do maps solo without IIQ/IIR, you go broke and sustainment is impossible. If you do maps either in a group or with stacked IIQ/IIR, you can sustain mapping for the most part, but just barely and you don't really profit except in terms of XP. If (and only if) you do maps in a group with dedicated Culling MF support, your stash actually profits throughout the endgame.

2. Well, you do need magic find to get those high ticket uniques.
Agree here; patience is an adequate substitute.

3. Magic find is ruining build diversity.

Um..what? No one is forcing you to make a magic finder.
In my response to point 1, I go over what is forcing players to make magic finders. It's worth noting, however, that the allure of dedicated Culling MF play means that the game isn't really forcing everyone to make magic finders — just about 20% of the characters. The other 80% or so may play whatever they want. I still feel the pressure to create MF characters is too high, especially for solo players, but I don't want to paint this picture of "stack MF or you're worthless." Just group with someone who specializes in MF, and you're fine with your 0/0 IIQ/IIR.

4. Magic find should be cut in half/removed from the game.
It should be reduced in efficacy (along with a buff to base drop rates), but not removed.

You are going to be running with Sadmina's/Aurasieze and Wondertrap because they give the most mf. By running them you are taking a MASSIVE hit to your es due to losing out on nearly 150 es base on both, and that's just using mediocre boots and gloves as comparison.

Unless you're using super godly gear, you're going to be making sacrifices.

ya, a sacrifice that means nothing to my summoner that avoids getting hit most of the time anyhow. Its not like I'm a melee running up to get hit by the monsters. Truth is my summoner can run any map she wants and just avoid damage while my summons destroy everything. Its not a massive hit if I don't care that its gone.

Edit: Of course I wouldn't use wondertraps in maps that would be suicide without Shavronnes. I am currently using Sadimas.

People blame their own shortcomings on things outside of their control. That's what's going on here. MF is included as an option... not a requirement. If you see it as a requirement, that's your problem, not the game's.
I agree with you, I've not played one single MF:er in the past 8 months. (I did level one to 29 and died with it, though..) And I've had as most 100 exalted orbs of gear/currency at once, which may not sound a lot too the Softcore players however it's a decent amount in HC.

Did I miss something? My Summoner isn't a MF'er and I'm doing just fine. There are like 3 threads now complaining about this.
