TL 2 So Dissapointing

^+1 to last paragraph.. TL2 is exactly what the fans wanted it to be. You should have read some info about the game before buying it.

Are you people serious? "You didn't know what game you bought." Seriously? I always try my best to stay civilized on the internet, but that has got to be one of the dumbest arguments I have ever heard. I didn't know what game I bought? I don't know if I should laugh or cry, so I guess I'll do a bit of both.

Tell you what: Give me one (pre-release) preview, statement, comment, twitter comment, podcast or whatever where one of the developers behind Torchlight 2 tells us they encourage cheating, and I'll shut up. Just one. Can you do that? It shouldn't be hard, as they kept saying it over and over, apparnently...

Modding is not cheating. They said over and over that they encouraged modding, yes, but they also said we have to download and install mods to use them. What you call modding is actually hacking. That's very different. It's no different than hacking your character in PoE. But that's ok too, right? I mean, you can't hate hacking in one game and accept it in another?

They said there will be no secured servers. I can not give you a video where they say they support cheated, but I can give you a video if you really want (and if I can find it) where they say, they will not ban cheaters because there are no secured servers, and simple can not do it, because people will find way to cheat, and that they will give people tools to see if characters uses hacks or not. And if people find fun in cheating, they will not prevent it.

If the game doesn't have secured servers, the game will always be easy to cheat and use hacks. I am not talking about moding.
Always before buying, find as much info about the game as you can, because you didn't do it, and was surprised with people being able to cheat that easy.

no item economy whatsoever
everyone importing everything

the game itself is fun to play the classes have fun skills and ive def sunk about 20 hours into it already but the devs just dont seem to give a fuck about anything
they just are of the opinion that players can do whatever they want however they want and dont care
thats why their game will never have the high level of addict players that poe does
ill be back to you when OB happens

TL2 didnt make me happy and we dont even mention that other ARPG that failed so hard it inverted on itself and became WoW

I believe TL2 is fine, the game is more so known for making mods and not to be taken as serious.

Just my opinion I basically have enjoyed all of the ARPG's i have played recently. Just threw in Diablo 1 recently because i didnt play it much that game is great but Uniques dropped so often there couldn't be a decent economy in that either. Which i guess is how TL2 is since its made by the same people.
Heh... my predictions are coming through.

Simply put if you are of the mind set that TL2 is an exact replacement for D3 then yeah you will be bummed out.

POE was my replacement for D3 since it was dark and ominous like D2. TL2 is similar to whymsishire in D3, which I actually thought wasn't that bad (as a concept of its own and not a Diablo branding, also I am a bit sadistic so did enjoy mutilating those ponies).

I am liking TL2 a whole lot more than TL 1. Just hope someone comes out with a shader mod to add some more darkness.

I can counter it and say they went on and on and on about how easy it was to block cheaters, like that made it all fine. If someone cheated in your game, you could simply kick him and put him on your Ignore-list, so he could never join your account again - even if he made a new character.

Plus, I could have accepted a bit of cheating if they had apologized for the crappy servers and said they at least wanted to do something about it. But when they said straight out on the forum that they don't care that people cheat, they crossed a line. Saying they don't care that people cheat is a slap in the face to us who really wanted online-play. They are telling us right to our face that they don't care. We paid for the game, so if we left the game, that's fine with them. Keeping the game up and running is just a lot of extra work, after all.

And? Did they lie? No, you can do it. They said they will give players option to ban people that they find to cheat, they never said they will do anything else.

Apologized? LOL. For what man, for something they never said they will do? They said they will not prevent any cheats, and don't care about it or the economy, they said it before release, they said it 1 year ago, if not even more. Hack i think 2 years ago, they said there will be no secured servers.

You paid for the game, that you didnt get any info about. Next time do more research, so thing like this don't happen. Dont know what more to tell you, but man, if you can not have fun playing a good game with friends because you can't brag about your item to some random unknown person, than I dont know what to think.... Its good that there is PoE and D3 for people like you, and its good there is TL2 to remind people that games are there to be played and have fun with them, and its not all about competition.
Why are you so obsessed that cheating is great? If it had been any online-other game, would you mind if people cheated? No? So why is it ok that peopel cheat in TL2? That's what I don't understand. I don't like people cheating, so I'm the weird one? Did I wake up in the Twilight Zone or something?

YES!!!
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.
