Chris promises no more product placement
I don't get what the big deal is, if they have too many people playing for free without buying packs and supporting them they should use product placement as a second income. If its not too intrusive i don't care.

I don't see (or expect) a promise that we won't see any more partnerships in Chris's statement. I see that he is genuinely sorry people are upset and assures us that Footprints are as far as they will go with any future promotions or partnerships. Stop putting words he never said into this.
GGG is a small company, needing funding and truthfully partnerships to be able to grow and develop the game. This game isn't free to make and never will be. If we want to continue to see speedy development and GGG/POE growing then take the partnerships and take the footprints and just get over it. I'm sure we will see an option to opt out of promotional things implemented in the future and I hope they SELL it as an MTX. All the crybabies don't want to see it - then pay for it. :) I love GGG, anything putting money in the bank so they can continue to pay off that 7 million dollar (or more) debt they accrued to get the game to the first Closed Beta support phase, then go for it. Keep it non-pay to win and I'm happy. You'd think people would be happy that GGG has accrued enough reputation that a company like Razor WANTS to sponsor them and be a small part of Wraeclast, I'm proud of GGG for getting this far and hope they continue. Give me footprints as an MTX for years more of development - I give not one fuck about it and am happy for GGG. “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Simple - after a business agreement comes board evaluation. Razer will hear about the outrage caused and the possible bad PR it gets from gamers. Since PoE is not a huge market, it will be regarded as not valuable for future brand placement for Razor. Since the deal is public any company in the future will know, that the playerbase of this game can get outraged with product placement, like logos, t-hirts, promos, mugs and so on. Also, there is no country in the world, where product placement or brand placement is illegal, it may be just banned in a few media, like TV in britan, which has lifted this ban as far as I know. Also you miss the point. If the product logo would be placed as a free chest ornament that looks good, or a pvp baner, would it be a real problem? PoE races could even become an esport, which Razer sponsors.
PS. I never said GGG image is destroyed or something, but it's a step back. Last edited by lososthefish#3348 on Sep 4, 2013, 5:36:59 AM

i still dont get whats wrong with the razer footprints. if you didnt know the company then they would be just "snake footprints" ..
they look cool with that game (the snake part) ppl are just crying because they already knew the company "razer". |

I'm going to leave my client running, diamond kiwi displayed prominently, with the Razer foot prints on permanently in Act 3 merciless Sarn, while i go to bed, simply just to make you anti-GGG-QQ whinebot-hipsters happier :)
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

" This is wrong. I pay money to my cable provider yet still need to endure commercials on paid channels. If this was a subscription game then yes, I can see your point but as it stands now you are wrong. I for one see no problem what-so-ever with these. They were not given to randomly selected individuals or to those who did 'x.' They were available to anyone. If these footprints was something to drive you to not play then you might have other problems. "Man, it's like we're fighting housewives and their equipment." - Millennium
