Chris promises no more product placement

To me this is all bullshit. All people [Removed] moaning about this in game advertisement is ridiculous. I'm sure the backlash has caught Chris off guard as well as I'm sure he thought about such emotional people before agreeing to the deal. And since the deal went through I'm sure he figured a few comments would be made but in no way would people's "immersion" or experience be ruined.

[Removed]

If I were Chris.... well I'm not nor is anyone else so get over it.

I just saw that Chris responded to someone's anti-Razer product placement post with this:

"I understand that this post is sarcastic and refers to the Razer Footprints. We have listened to the feedback from the community members who felt that they don't fit into our world. The footprints are not the first step in a slippery slope - they're as far as we're willing to go. I'm sorry to everyone who was upset by them, that wasn't the intention."

I appreciate that Chris stepped up and said this. I am guessing the logo footprint won't be removed. I am not happy about that, but I do admire Chris for stepping up and saying this. You guys are going to have to do some damage control now.

I don't see where chris promised no more product placement. Hes saying this is the limit, which would suggest that they are more then willing to do other promotions to an equal degree as the razer one.

Also, did't Chris make it clear that they didn't receive money for this deal, and that it was simply a co-promotion deal? Many people seem to be assuming GGG has received development funds for this. Correct me if I'm wrong.

*IF* its the case that they didn't receive money for the deal, then I would think a lot of the defenders may reconsider their position. I find it unlikely that a simple co-promotion deal is going to amount to much, especially with razer.

This is possibly the most hypocritical post I've ever read.
The vast majority of gamers are strongly against in game advertisements. 99.9% of online games do not use them, even though they easily could, for good reason. You being in the minority doesn't make everyone else immature, but it does make you immature for thinking it does.
