Razer Footprints is the dumbest marketing I've ever seen...

So tell me, who are the real winners here? Everyone in the ARPG community has heard of PoE by word of mouth. Fans of other genres don't care or won't play. Not everyone in the ARPG community has heard of Razer. So who got the better end of the deal if it even was one?

GGG sure didn't. Many against this who would've contributed for a long time to come now are in doubt and are hesitant to support. I hope those of you who so vehemently defend this deal have studied financial accounting because customer goodwill CAN be valued and so can a brand or logo.

..and if you haven't then don't talk out of your buttocks.

I defend it and yes I studied financial accounting, marketing, customer support and professional communication are part of the BBA.

But, I see that you probably have an accounting background. So, as you should have learned, an accountant isn't supposed to comment on a financial deal without being aware of all the details as to who have the losing end? A chartered accountant cannot speculate or make slanderous observation without the full background details.

That why I don't comment on that part because there is no point. The deal could be bigger than that like Razor working on a code for game integration. There is already an overlay specifically made for PoE. We don't know so no financial comment.

And so did I..so I'm not an accountant. Businessman if you want to put it that way. The point I am trying to make is for people who believe that the deal was a complete victory for GGG; it is not. Clearly if we talk about just valuation then the deal also, to some extent, could net them a loss but I digress and won't speculate.

I believe you to be educated enough to realise that this entire fiasco could've been averted had they devoted some resources towards a suitable promo item that would appease all fans (as I've said before: three-headed green snake pet ;)). Surely the goodwill is valued more than relatively reasonable production costs on a single cosmetic? So in that sense, it wasn't a smart move but likely what Razer requested in the contract no compromise.

I've said enough though and can only vote with my wallet.
Free advertising for PoE is a GOOD THING.

Seeing a razer logo DOES NOT hypnotize you into buying their products.

Not seeing the problem here.

No, you're doing it wrong:

Enough is enough! I have had it wit these Monkey-fightin' snakes on this Monday-through-Friday plane!

I don't mind the footprints, but I won't wear them myself. Also, I don't see how the regal effect looks worse, it's awesome looking.

But do they look tacky?

Oh hell yes. :)

making them even less hypnotic

Imagine if you were a previous Razer customer who had many of their products spoil on you within a month of getting them, the exchanged ones spoiling included. How would you feel if you saw this insulting logo pulsate in town every time?

And you can't get rid of it :)

That's exactly how I feel. And I would think others feel the same too.

P.S: Their imperators and certain batches of their copperheads are shit. Actually their products are generally shit. My $10 mini logitech does the job better. And for keyboards, my Vortex KBT > any Razer keyboard in build quality.

I hope none of you have actually had the displeasure of taking one of their mice apart LOL. The materials and components used are just downright awful. Good products? Ha ha ha.

OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS--(Reuters - September 2, 2013) - McDonalds (NYSE: MCD), the largest fast food corporation in the world, has announced a deal to acquire Grinding Gear Games, a small New Zealand based video game studio known for its up-and-coming action role-playing game "Path of Exile."

"Research has showed us that the demographics of video game players and the demographics of our customers are very similar," stated Don Thompson, CEO of McDonalds. "We feel that this deal will benefit both of our companies."

"I'm very exited about McDonalds' investment in our company," Chris Wilson, one of the original founders of Grinding Gear Games, said. "This infusion of cash will ensure that Path of Exile will be an exciting game for years to come."

In the upcoming 11.6 patch, players of Path of Exile will begin to see the effects of the deal. Players will be able to venture into a new dungeon named McDonald Land, in Act 3 of the game, which takes place in the ruined City of Sarn. There, they will encounter new monsters unique to that area, and have a chance at finding the mysterious Big Mac Orb.

Yeah, just saw that. I mean, it's not like he's an authority, but he's more of an authority on this game than I am by far, and a far bigger fanboy... and guess which side of the fence he's on? ;)

Waitwut? There are already threads about this? I'm shocked, I wouldn't have thought anyone would have a problem with giant luminous pulsating real life logos plastered all over the ground Wraeclast. Weird.

I hope they make CocaCola RedBull and some cheap McDonalds footprints...huh
