Why did you break alt-weapon set auras?
I have no problems with weapon specific skills not working without the appropriate weapon currently in my hand, but does not a piece of armor on me, just wearing equate to the same thing as a shield or sword i have on my back/sheathed. Should not the gems that provide non weapon skills work as if they are on me? It is after all magic and is reserving my mana as a cost, and by using on a swap set gets rid of my ability to swap out to another set for some ungodly reason to use those abilities. I mean, if i yell irl, and get a battlecry effect, but i switch it off my hotbar the yell is nullified, wait wtf? :P

It was a bug and needed to be fixed. But, as it looks like, people really liked it. Is it possible to enable certain kind of gems and mods from secondary weapons while not being used? (Auras, Curses, Whatnot...). Unless, that this means going backwards...

Bollocks. Im playing a pure summoner templar (its an easier, if a slighly slower starting, build than from witch) and am currently L70. HappyDude(70) I use 4 auras, Discipline, Anger, Wrath, and Hatred. They are in 2 3L items, with Mana Reduction. these are all L17, except Anger, which is 16. I use 403 of 912 mana. The other 4 skills are Zombie, Skeleton (Totem), Fire Trap and Fireball. It takes real work to use 500 mana: it only happens when I have to replace all my zombs at once. Id rather not have fireball, but I cant put a curse/fire trap/totem on the LMB. This is where Id love a move to pointer option, it would increase the options for the LMB greatly. Im not a guy that likes to spam a hundred buttons when I play a game: I got over that at the arcades in the 80's, but most of all I dont see how (apart from a curse) that this build could be improved ATM: phase run just leaves the minions behind same with teleport nothing really lives long enough to warrant cursing it and, of course, I have no intention of ever standing next to anything hitty, ever. It really doesnt matter what direct attack spell I use. No, Really. Actually, Im curious as to a build that uses 8 active skills on a continual basis. B. The Preceding message contains discretion.

But then again, if youd have a curse, trap, heck even a fireball in your other weapon set and swap while the spell is still in effect, the effect should stay, i dont see why auras should be any different. Note:
Auras do not turn off when switched out of the skillbar. which doesnt help the guys whining about running out of slots and having to use alt slots for auras, but its cool for others who have problems filling up all their sockets. Since auras no longer go away between zones, it means a one or two click cycle to turn on all the auras you want. B. The Preceding message contains discretion.

at this point it is more a question of tedium.
We live in a world where games tend to be run by hot keys. And too some one who is used to having a hot key for everything, it is understandable how the current system requires the use of physically replacing and setting auras one at a time instead of having a hotkey (in this case a weapon swap switch) and get them over with in a series of button presses. the alt weapon set aura mechanic/bug is done with, but i would like to see some way to bind and cycle through multiple qwert skill bars even if one bar just has my auras on it. |

I have to say, get over it. The whole point of the system is to make you have to choose. You have to choose what skills to use, how to augment them with supports, what passives you use, and finally, you HAVE to choose what skills you can actively use in the heat of battle. I like that they have made Auras even more of a choice than they were before.
Yes, some might not get used any more, they'll rebalance them. That's what Beta is for, to balance, to fix bugs, and to finish systems. |

It seems aura's not taking a spot is still possible. By activating the aura and replacing it with another skill. The aura will remain active and you can use the other skill.
