I can't help but conclude the only reason Startkabels might have played Diablo 3 lately was because they were unable to talk about it here.

34 pages. Really. You have a cinematic trailer and a promise of 'fixing' so many fuckups in a game boasting cinematics that probably cost more than the entire development of Path of Exile and somehow this is a 'vs' situation. Unfuckingcredible.

First of all I really don't see what you are trying to say with that spoiler, I've been on probabation for 1 day. What is your point?

Secondly: At least Blizzard is acknowledging their fuckups, PoE players have been experiencing massive desync like forever?

GGG would do good to invest more of their money into the experience like cutscenes or a more enjoyable story instead of billions of micro transaction and all that other useless stuff nobody is waiting for.

O yes and arguments like "It is free, you may not complain" are stupid. It was GGG themselves who choose to compete with D3, not me...

That's not true, you build you character with synergies between (passives) skills and gear and can further customize with paragon points and item sockets.

It really comes down to the same thing without nitpicking

I don't know everything thats changed in D3 since I left but none of that was there when I played it. Sockets were so meaningless, everyone used the same gems for the same equipment because it was painfully obvious. I seriously wondered why they were even in the game. I don't remember hardly any synergies with gear but even if some of that is in the game its still no where near whats in PoE in terms of customization. Last I heard was Paragon points are just fixed upgrades with no choice at all, has that been changed now as well?

Sockets meaningless? Wow they are more meaningful as in PoE that's for sure: In PoE sockets are only there to annoy people and force them to do micromanagement with jewelers, fuses and chromatics (how many people complain about that in the meantime?)

You wonder why D3 has sockets? To put in stuff that increase base stats in a significant way (not 10 x 6%) and not so that you can use a skill.

Paragon points can also be spend in base stats

Thanks for you contribute.
He's still bitching?

Anyway Startkabels I'd like you to come up with an intelligent reply to this (dont just copy paste what youve said before, put some thought into it)

Diablo 3 designers: 'We heard your complaints about character customisation so now we are giving you paragon points to spend on your character attributes. So you can build him how you exactly want and be different from the rest' (@ gamescom presentation)

In interview later adds: 'Yeah its endless paragon BUT every attribute is capped to say 50 points'

GREAT ... NO CAP ON PARAGON BUT CAP ON THE STATS THEMSELVES... FRIGGIN FANTASTIC ... Now every character who is a no lifer can again have the same attributes at endgame!!! WOOOO

''Hey my monk is different to yours mate ... you got 20 vit less cuz we are one level difference from completing all paragon stats! We are such amazing no lifers lolz''

Every1 running with 1000dex - 1000vit - 1000 int - 1000 str ... 10k armor ... 1000 res all ... 400k dps ... SAME legendaries (cuz after buff making legendaries just glorified rares who the fuck wanted rares anymore? they cant get the variance between uniques and rares right like poe does, or d2 did to a certain extent, do you ever see a poe character with full rares or full legendaries?)

LOL

You are hilarious. Thanks for that.

Edit: I really have no need to argue about this. I know which game I prefer and I don't need to go convince anyone that I am right. I will play what I like and I suggest to anyone including the OP to do the same and not try to evangelize their game to people in a different forum just to get attention and try to feel vindicated. You end up looking like your trying to convince yourself more than anyone else.

Standard Forever

Hang in there Startkabels! Don't let 'em get to you.

Just dig your heels in, and keep on swingin'.

Bravo =)
Yeah... This is my problem with the base philosofy behind this game. "PoE is a game for no-lifers", that pretty much sums it up.

On the west pay to win is universally loathed, and I'm glad it is that way, but there is another equally despicable game mechanic that I think people are just beginning to be aware of: when your success in the game is determined almost solely by the time you invest on it and not by your skill/creativity. While P2W makes rich people feel good about themselves, this mechanic I'm talking about does the same for no-lifers.

Note that I'm not talking about the way your skill improves the more you play a game, and of course skill and creativity is always important, the problem is in PoE, it ends up being less relevant than the time you can invest in the game. I don't think I need to explain why.

An intelligent reply to those quotes without source is no reply..

D3s system for active skills is the best I've ever seen. PoEs system for passive skills is easily one of the best.

Passive skills in D3 are boring and active skills in PoE are limiting, rather awkward and boring.
