PoE Vs Diablo 3 new expansion
I lost interest since it turned into a quarrel between devils advocate and people mindlessly trying to prove him wrong about what he should feel. You are getting silly, start thinking what you are arguing about, bashing him for.

They never should have eliminated the community moderators.

You do know moderators exist to stop people from making personal attacks and other forms of harassment right? Their job is not to stop other people from disagreeing with you or punishing different opinions.
Sigh... There are good people in the PoE community but sometimes they seem too hard to find... Last edited by EternalEntity#2722 on Sep 8, 2013, 3:20:03 PM

Well, this thread should be off topic anyways.

Just gonna say, this thread should be in off topic
D3 has its good points - hear me out. It is a very simple combat simulator, where you just run around killing things super easily because the game is badly balanced. But PoE customisation and combat just raises it miles above D3. I will admit, I have gone back to D3 occasionally when I have binged too much on PoE, and had a bit of fun, but it doesn't last long because the glaring flaws in D3 start showing. Here is a nice example: http://diablo.somepage.com/popular/barbarian Have a look at the bottom of the page, at the 'most used skills'. EVERY barbarian in D3 is using the same skillset. This is true for the other builds aswell. Have a look at Monks, they all use the exact same skillset. Essentially that is the reason D3 is never going to compare to PoE. Even if we can ignore that sockets are now just 'put in your int/str/dex gem', that its all WW/Thunderfist/WWCM spam, your characters are all the same. If you made two barbarians. They would be the same. The only difference? The items. You could LITERALLY take the items off one barb and put it on the other, and then change the skills to be the same, and you have the same character. But thats not true for PoE. My Duelist is in no way similar to anyone elses duelist. Sure, theres 5 characters in D3, 6 in PoE, but by seeing a marauder I don't know what CLASS he is. i don't know his strengths/weaknesses. I don't know if he fears ele reflect or phys reflect. I don't know if he ignores both by firing his poison arrow/viper strike. I see a witch with a wand and a shield, and go "Oh, you have gone a build that uses a wand and a shield", because I can't conclude that its fireball, spark, ice spear totem, summoner, freeze pulse, low life, CI, wander. That is PoE That is why the passive tree matters, because you can have a character with identical items (excepting sockets/gems), and still manage a different playstyle. My shavronne user is a fireball crit based burn build, while yours is a spark totem. Are we the same? Not really |

" hahahahaha i knew this was coming lost for words arent you? If you are such a big fan as you say, you wouldve followed the gamescome presentation where josh said that and the subsequent blue posts where they said the paragon isnt capped but the stats are. Heck, even I did. Funny how you dont know everything about the expansion all of a sudden. But its fun to see you have nothing to retort with except 'not gonna answer cuz you got me there lolz' |

" = no. lifer. = Really? How is that a problem? No lifers have always, and will always, play a different "game" from the rest of us. The "rest of us" being the vast majority of gamers who can still extract hundreds of hours of enjoyment from titles like these, without ever seeing the Min-Max-End-Game(tm). I quit Vanilla D3 in disgust @ 2 months in, and after watching that full presentation and reading some of the interviews, I will definitely be buying the PC expansion. |

I don't get how this should be in off topic, it is feedback, but whatever...
