They do get hit too, its just a 1 in 50 chance or so, but most of the times when it gets through they get close to dying or die. If its a vuln / damage carnage esp, 2xxx-3xxx health pools are so much fun :)

First, evasion does not allow you to avoid all the hits. No matter how high you stack your evasion and blind, you eventually get hit and when you do, you die instantly because you have no mitigation. It's a lot different from an armor based character who tries to avoid big hits, but in the instance of a mistake he will still be alive and he kites around until his HP is in a safe place. None of this evasion vs armor is relevant however.

The point that people seem to be intentionally sweeping under the rug is that this guy's attacks both do insane damage and COMPLETELY BYPASS evasion checks. EK and bear trap both being pure physical, extremely high damage moves that have no evasion check. There is no attack in the game that bypasses BOTH ARMOR AND RESIST in the game. EK and bear trap are unique in that they deal physical damage and bypass evasion, and they both exist on the same boss.

It's not really even an issue of the boss or of evasion as much as it's an issue with bear trap and EK. If these abilities are getting armor checks they should get evasion checks.

Few tricks that help alot; keep a whirling blades or leap slam ready to go, and granite flask with 85%+ increased armour mod and enfeble dosent hurt.(enfeeble + granite flask = OP defence)

I've never really found him over powerd or really dangerous mostly just anoying ;P

You're probably not playing evasion.

Also, I don't think enfeeble works on bear trap and EK as they are spells/traps and not attacks. Enfeeble specifically says attack damage is reduced.

After fighting Ash Lessard I have noticed that his EK and bear trap is NOTHING compared to how Perpetus' EK scales even in normal. There are tricks to Perpetus(the best being to simply not go into the ruined building part of the area), but I now accept and agree that Perpetus needs a little nerfing, that Bear trap on its own is messed up on that monster, lasts waaaaay longer then expected and in norm seems to be a lvl 20 gem.

level 53 lightning strike marauder. 1300 or so health and 2300 or so armor.

finished him off in about 20 seconds. even with bear trap. did you use a health flask? granite flask? do you have life leach?

maybe I just got lucky?
