Perpetus in City of Sarn
" If you haven't noticed the tread title 'Perpetus in City of Sarn'. CoS is a zone. Casually casual.

Did you know!?!? Bear traps actually fly at you through the air, slow enough that you can see them coming and -here's the big part- move out of the way.

Lightning Warp makes it a lot easier to survive the bear traps. So does immortal call. Also, just stay away from him if you don't feel chunky enough.
Luna's Blackguards - a guild of bronies - is now recruiting! If you're a fan of our favourite chromatic marshmallow equines, hit me up with an add or whisper, and I'll invite you!

@RogueMage: City of Sarn is the first zone in Act III, just after you get out of the Vaal Pyramid.
" Did you know!?!? Desync! 'Moving out of the way' is not a reliable strategy against anything in Path of Exile. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Last edited by dudiobugtron#4663 on Aug 25, 2013, 9:12:36 PM

" Beat me to it. Also, this guy is REALLY fast. He moves at about 20% speed, and has very fast casting. He can dive bomb you and be at your feet in a split second, and have a trap laid at your feet within the same second. Also, if you get caught in one, it's over. He will just keep throwing them until you're dead and you can't move. At least, that's what happens to me. Get caught once, you're done. Between Desynch and latency, there is no way I can avoid this. He is an optional gear check to check your level of HP/ES and Arm/endurance charge/spellblock/phase acro.
If its too low, he owns you. With my char he tickles due to end charges + armour + blind (for his occasional physical, is more for other bosses really). Good boss = one which some builds find easy, some find impossible. Means that your build is weak to his type of boss Last edited by Real_Wolf#6784 on Aug 26, 2013, 12:30:31 AM

I think he is named Perpetus for a reason.
Perpetus = A Perpetual Slayer of Exiles. You either fight fire with fire and try to trap him, or you kite and keep your distance. If you glance at Global Chat, don't get too mad when you get trapped and then 1 shot KO'd with Ethereal Knives. If you aren't paying attention when near the center of City of Sarn, don't be too mad if...same thing. Real_Wolf has a good point. Certain builds are just naturally weak against monsters like Perpetus who deal high physical damage through spells. You can't evade EK (you can dodge though with Spell Dodging, rarely) and, if you are Evasion based, you likely don't have enough Armor to mitigate the damage of a nice EK blast. If it critical strikes, there is no hope really. I play very defensive when near Perpetus with my Lvl 79 Ranger. #1 Rule: Don't Get Hit. TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.

" Yeah, thanks, that did skip my notice. Found Perpetus in Cruel Sarn with my lvl-51 melee Duelist, 900 HP. Multistrike Dual Strike took him down in 8-10 blows, 1300 dps. Then I tracked him down in Merciless with my lvl-64 melee Marauder, 2000 HP, 75% Block Chance. This time it took about a dozen blows: MS Viper Strike and Infernal Blow, backed up by Enfeeble and Cold Snap. " Hmm, my HP's pretty minimal and I don't have any of the rest, though the Duelist does have 50% projectile block. Last edited by RogueMage#7621 on Aug 26, 2013, 4:22:15 AM
