Perpetus in City of Sarn

While I could kill Brutus and Blacksmith easily, Perpetus used to bite me in the ass till I was lvl 73. He is the worsest creature in this game I´ve seen up to now.

Take conversion trap, throw it right in front of your feet when he comes and let him kill the rest of his own gang. As summoner you can then let all of your army on him, but I don´t know how he can be killed easily on melee.

By now I kill him with pleasure. He and Brutus are my favourite ones just for revenge :)))
I love this boss now, he is a good challenge, the trick is disabling his bear traps and doing burst damage and kiting

I used to hate him just like i used to hate rng but it makes sense now

Dear mr perpetus, plz keep owning all the inexperienced players that come your way, thankyou
I use to hate fighting him as a melee, but now I find it pretty easy. I just leap slam to him, pop a granite flask and just whack him a few times and he's dead. If you go all out offensive at him it usually does the trick. Don't give him time to trap you.
R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.

When I was on my casters, I just assumed it was because I was squishy, but now that I am on a full armor and health build, he's still slicing through me easily.

When built correctly, casters are vastly tankier than health + armour builds.

Also, this guy is REALLY fast. He moves at about 20% speed, and has very fast casting. He can dive bomb you and be at your feet in a split second, and have a trap laid at your feet within the same second. Also, if you get caught in one, it's over. He will just keep throwing them until you're dead and you can't move. At least, that's what happens to me. Get caught once, you're done.

I like the 'mild' exaggeration on display here. Perpetus is a joke for me lol ... he isnt any faster than other undying, he doesnt spam bear traps because they have a cd like player's. In short, please stop making shit up.

Is that 1800 HP on merciless btw? If so, your stats do matter, but not your armour (it doesn't help much vs bear trap since the damage is so high, so your reduction will be much less than 40%). Health matters a lot though. Get some more HP to make him easier.

OP has 40% reduction against cruel mobs ... can you imagine how bad his armor rating is? If you got 25k with a granite and charges on, the bear traps are no issue in merciless. You can also enfeeble him for more lulz

Perpetus is no problem if you use spell totem + summon skeletons for diversion. You should also be leveling up 1-2 fire traps in the back hand for reflect mobs and encounters like perpetus.
BTW have fun doing the Ghetto map later on:)
Now he is easy. Before nerf he killed all my toons, though.

Lightning warp/leap slam helps a lot when you are locked

Just making the debate here, but if an area boss is so difficult to kill, that everyone just avoids him, should he not be looked at and perhaps adjusted a bit?

Would like to see a rebuttal to this.
I was succesfully farming City of Sarn in Merciless before 0.11 (hp/es values nerf) with 1k hp on my CI-meant char, and i was killing Perpetus easilly, using EK (so preety close to him) and tanking his beartraps with granite. My dps wasn't great and came only from gear, as i was going to switch to melee after respeec to CI.

How about all the people that posted that they kill him and strategies to use in doing so?
