Diablo 3 expansion announced! LOOT RUNS??!?!
" No, I don't hate D3. I tested it and liked the combat flow. That was all, I think. I did not like the character individualization. The itemization. The unsatisfying loot experience. The awkward mechanics void of "Hit or Miss". The lazy design behind /x players. Given, PoE does have it's problems and GGG said themselves that they need to increase combat performance to D3 level. I just think in the long term PoE has a higher potential and GGG a bigger incentive to make something out of it instead of Blizzard concerning D3. Moneytization is one of the reasons. |

" An expensive, online only game that looks more akin to something suited for a console WITH AH at the very core. Surely you can see how some people will find that less than an appealing prospect? This is not mentioning issues of the game itself, related or not, to those points. |

I love POE but I was VERY excited to hear it. I was though a bit disappointed that they are not changing skills system, nor any mention about the AH or the ladder system. but it is definitely a step in the right direction. and I am pretty confident they will implement the other good features sometime in the future.
what I liked about it: - loot changes. - paragon level unlimited level cap. - some kind of an end game with random maps and random bosses. what I didnt like - blizzard slow work and updates, hopefully this will change after console release so they focus on fixing the game. -only level 70 cap. -no mention for real end game changes. excuse my poor english, as it is not my native language. |

It will first arrive in 2014, so meh.
About loot runs, well it looks more like a randomized generated dungeon thing, other arpgs have that as well, took them long enough... Will be a long time before they release anyway, we'll see if this is another to be d3 turd or an actual improvement. I'm sure not gonna buy it right away before i see others actually giving good feedback from their gameplay experience after some weeks, if its to much of the vanilla, blizzard aint gonna screw me over again. PoE had the exact same feature already in closed beta. Just saying.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Just watched the trailer, nice quality as usual but the bad guy looks pretty generic and stereotyped with his dull remarks. Not sure if Blizzard is catering to the CoD generation or I just became older.

I was actually pretty sure that I would get the new Diablo 3 expansion.
However, one new class, one new act, and a map system is a pathetic amount of content. Most games out now release that much content for 4-5 dollars, and PoE does it for free. It's not a re-vamp of the item system that they needed. They need more things that you can drop. PoE has a good variety, D2 had a good variety. D3 has items, gold, and recipes. The demonic essences were a decent start, but honestly the game is missing the runes something terrible... Just more bad decisions by a company that really needs to start catering to their playerbase rather than just making a quick buck with every release. |

" there is a change in the skill system. every character will get new skills and runes and your paragon levels will be account wide. each paragon level will enable you to spend points in ANY other character of yours in 4 different categories. you can raise you main stats, or you can put paragon points into things like crit chance, movement speed etc etc etc and most importantly ... there is no CAP to paragon levels anymore ... the more you play, the more rewards you will get ... and to people saying: it all will be released in 2014. thats not true. blizz already confirmed today that loot 2.0 etc will be available as a patch before the addon. Interesting to see D3 adapt a concept GGG abandoned in favour of maps.
They obviously think us closed beta supporters don't have memories long enough to remember classic Maelstrom of chaos. Can't wait to see these loot runs devolve into preferred area generation of their version of the linear Ledge, which was the most efficient way of clearing maps, gaining exp and loot the fastest. Hopefully they can improve on this aspect of the end game. In this era of SC3 optimization of build/play orders and min-maxing, this is bound to happen. Look what happened when these priniciples were brought over to POE, exploits, FTOM and QQ galore. Either way, I'm waiting till they release the inevitable Battlechest version. Hopefully Collector's edition, with the demonic head. I missed that head when I opted not to purchase D3. :( POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!
