The OP is hilarious, nerfing an exploit? This might be nerfing builds that shouldn't have had access to this at all, by fixing an exploit. Shav's build needed this, melee ele builds might need a slight buff, but it's all just fixing something that shouldn't have been there.

The other changes are also justified, spork totems still OP, life nerf came with a monster damage nerf, CI was the most OP shit ever in late closed beta, Everybody who wasn't 10+ points away wanted to get Inner Force, Thorns on mobs is not really a nerf to LA, it's REALLY ndirect. And well, degen bears were way too good in groups, maybe making it like detonate dead would work, but it needed a nerf.

I also lol'd at "for all them summoners" Everybody Kripp's sheep now or what? No thanks, I'd still take titty bitches over it anywhere outside of high level maps in parties. If you find the game so unenjoyable, how about you quit and spare us from the crying?

If a change makes something weaker, it is a nerf, regardless whether that something was an exploit or not.

If it is true, that the only reason life builds were able to compete with ES mostly because of this aura exploit, then this fix should point out how much disparity there is between the two.

I don't have high hopes in regards to how GGG balances things, but even I am going to say that let's see where this goes.

The thing is, this is a QQ thread, and this guy is QQing about, along with other things, a bug being removed.

unfortunately that exploit was the only thing which justified the existence of the blood magic items as now it is simply easier to just take the time to get blood magic since it is located on the passive skill highway. malachias and the covenant have very mediocre stats that get easily out paced 5 - 10 levels after they are introduced.


another thing to take into account is that most str based melee builds and even dex based builds never have enough mana to really get their critical auras up until very very late game.

ill admit it my mara was using the exploit to use grace which is literally 40% of my total armor but there is no way i can use it and determinaton/ purity ( which become more and more necessary the farther you go in the game).

This will probably destroy non int based mana builds. resource management was already garbage for those builds anyway , and required heavy investment be it though sacrificing a gem slot or 10 - 15 passives.

getting even 500 mana requires no small amount of int / gear investment let alone the 1000 - 2000 mana you need to viably use high mana spells and auras.


so yes it is fixing a bug but it will introduce alot of bad balance when it is removed, and who knows how long it will take for that fall out to be cleaned up.

And you know what , in the mean time my mara will be pretty much unplayable. And if i cannot play the character i want to play because I factually know that it is completely broken and inferior , well then im gona go play dark souls or hell Duke NukeM Forever so i can avoid the frustration. I wont be the only person with that train of thought either.

I should look at sigs more often.
The fastest way to destroy the player base in any game is the lack of contents and nerfing. GGG does an outstanding job on both of them.

PoE can't be balance because:
1. It's an open system.
2. The game mechanics is so complicated that even the developer get lost in it.

Since .11 they are in a vicious cycle of nerfs and buffs. The time could have be spend on creating new contents.

There are nerfs, when a mechanic is changed to be weaker, because of their 'power'
There are buffs, when a mechanic is changed to be stronger, because of their 'power'
There are bug fixes. These are unrelated to nerfs or buffs, and the effect they have on power is NOT the reason they occur.
