R.I.P. Degen Bearz You Will Be Missed

I'll take nerfs over power creep every single day all day long.
I love all this rage against the aura change.

It reminds me of all the huge rage when they changed it so aura's on off-hand didn't stay active.

Does anyone else from CB remember all the complaints, the "You have just ruined 100s of builds that require this, it will be impossible to run 7 auras now, no build can run auras properly"

However, now, everyone runs plenty of auras. Some do it without abusing (My wander had no trouble doing 6 auras and could hit 7 with some better gear). But because they are fixing another exploit everyone is saying it has ruiend the game.

Perhaps stop QQing about bugs that aren't actual bugs? The degen bears was an oversight caused by their power against high HP enemies. They were never designed to be spectres as such, and so they closed up a hole in the system.

Not to mention there are a large number of 'buffs' that have occured, perhaps go read actual patch notes where there are often buffs aswell.
Yeah that was funny. One guy kept comparing it to combos in street fighter.
never liked degen bears like that, theyre great at killing tough bosses fast but they are not so easy to control like you want them to

and at map clearing they cant compare to flame sentinels or tittybitches or dogs, because their degen aura was constant and there was no real way to greatly enhance it really.

Chaos Inoculation nerf
People could get upwards of 15k es, with 15 nodes invested into es. Balanced right?

Life Nodes Nerf
They nerfed life and nerfed monster damage.

Spark Crit chance nerf
Spark was already the only good lightning spell, why did it need to have 50% more base crit than the other lightning spells?

Aura Exploit Nerf
Fixing an exploit is not a nerf.

Inner Force Nerf
After the next patch it will be only slightly weaker than the 30% it was before. People discovered they could run 6-8 auras fairly easily, which made this node broken.

Thorns on mobs (esentialy nerfing LA builds)
The only broken thing about thorns is the mob AI makes the mobs only cast thorns a lot of the time. Reflect mechanics prevent people from going full offense and surviving based solely on never getting close to the fight.

DROP RATE OF ORBS NERF (due to bots) esencialy makin solo play extra unrewardin in terms of orb drops
The logic in this one is incomprehensible.

Here is the big picture. GGG released an obscene amount of broken uniques, so now they need to make the game harder. I don't think any of these nerfs are big enough.
Seems like they just nerf shit a few weeks after kripp makes a video about it.

Thats the thing. It isn't actually true, but things Kripp point out that are bugs/exploits/need fixing ARE THINGS THAT NEED FIXING. And so when they get fixed/nerfed/improved its not really a bad thing, its just what occured.

People always complain about nerfs, buffs, and exploit fixes. Why? I don't really know, do they want things to be stale and never change? I think so
I fully support the theory, although not the actual implementation, of the life nodes nerf, because it was simultaneously accompanied by a buff (reduced monster damage). I have major qualms with the specific numbers, and I would have preferred a buff to base life (which would have avoided the whole ES confusion, since monster damage and ES nodes wouldn't have changed), but on a philosophical level I believe it was the right type of change; nerf this, simultaneously buff that.

That said, I do have a problem with the current nerf/buff balance. It seems to me that nerfs happen a lot more often than buffs, and in general that's not a good direction to take. Using both strategies about equally is the proper path.

And melee is definitely due some buffs. For example, that whole Anger/Wrath thing? How about increasing the Damage Effectiveness of melee skills so that melee has the old Anger/Wrath DPS, without even needing to use Anger or Wrath? That's the type of appropriate buff that should accompany something like the Covenant bug fix.

OP takes things too far, but the community as a whole is too nerf-happy, and someone should take a stand defending a more moderate version of OP's views.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
