Uniques need to focus on Late/Endgame

I also find it somewhat unnerving when you talk about upgrades and uniques in the same thought process. Uniques should only upgrade your gear, if its a build enabler. Not de facto. End game viable uniques tend to be build amplifiers, and not build enablers. They shouldn't be in the game.

There should be room for both. Build enablers and build amplifiers.

Don't forget that it's easier to plan your build around a unique because there's a lot of them out there, rather than hoping you can roll the exact stats on a rare that you need. So of course you're going to see uniques be build enablers and build amplifiers because that's what people DO. They make their builds with uniques in mind.

It's far easier to say, "Well my build is going to need Rainbowstrides and Void Battery than it is to say, 'Well i'll need a well rolled 200 ES boots and high spell damage/cast/crit wand.'"

None of this has any relevance to the fact that junk uniques that no one can use past level 30 or so pollute high level map drops.

Given the release of Wideswing, I feel this deserves a bump. Wideswing has insane range. It has a really cool effect. And it's completely fucking useless once you hit level 30 or so, because eventually, you just need to do more damage than that. If it was on, say, an abyssal axe, it could have been an endgame alternative to Marohi Erqi, albeit with somewhat different aims. Instead, it's a trash unique with no value outside of maybe lowbie PvP. Come on, guys. Seriously?

Apparently it's never occurred to you that a 7L Discharge could be amazingly powerful, especially considering that it's a build often hampered by its ability to deal too much damage (and kill itself on Reflect). Perhaps Cold to Fire (to allow Frenzy charge usage) + Chance to Ignite + Increased Burning Damage + Life Leech + Elemental Proliferation, plus the built-in level 20 (!!!) Increased Area of Effect . I was actually pondering Pillar of the Caged God for a similar purpose, but Wideswing just seems easier than dedicating to 700+ Intelligence.

Not saying it would be good; just saying some testing may be required.

I dont need a fucking game full of end game uniques. I want a game full of end game rares.

So forget about your childish imaginations for such a game. Besides that, low level uniques are very nice for leveling new characters and are a reward for playing this game longer. If you cannot accept that fact maybe you should stop playing this game because you dont understand.

No offense to anyone else or the game but personally I have to say that I can't help but feel annoyed everytime new uniques get released and at least half of them are twinks.

The proper power level for the majority of uniques is low-maps viable or better, with caution taken to avoid making the unique best-in-slot. This is tricky because allowing a rare to technically roll better isn't enough; a sufficient quantity of rares need to roll better in order to ensure that enough of those rares are available on the market to compete with their unique counterparts.

Shavronne's is actually at a good power level; it's RF that's the problem. Take RF out of the picture and there are better rare ES chests on the market.

It's a rare day in hell that you can find a higher DPS physical bow than Lioneye's Glare; that one is OP.

A great many uniques are simply flat-out underpowered.
