But not even close to as "absurd" as other builds in the game. The point of this thread was to point out that there Re MUCH more powerful builds in the game with NO mention of being nerfed as well as to show that Facebreakers is really only OP at low levels. End game the dps is on par with the other top end game builds. Also, that melee needs to do substantially more DMg than ranged to compensate for the risk they take being in melee range.

Melee should do much more DMg than ranged.

Or let useless sporker run everywhere until their totem kill everything with insane IQ / IR...

With FB u have to manage your res / hp and you generally can't stack a lot of IQ / IR.

By nerfing facebreaker they are killing another fun build... it's time to reroll a super no fun no brain discharger or sporker!!!!

It shouldn't get nerfed too much, most of melee builds need a buff, but GGG often chooses to do shit that makes no sense and fails terribly instead of doing what would work out a lot better, so we'll just have to wait until they realise their mistake. Then they make some more changes, hopefully a bit less retarded, and make the unique fine again. They just don't want facebreakers to be the strongest melee build, which is fine, it's not supposed to, but the way they do things is just stupid most of the time. Basically, they really need to sort out their priorities on what to nerf and buff.

Not to mention they don't want nerf kaom & friends because too much people are using it / it's expensive builds but what's up for the new players like me who put their 5 exa currencies value in a facebreaker build? (fb / abysssus / ...). Do you really think it will motivate me to make another character with nothing left?

It's harder to max resists with a face breaker build since no resists on gloves, meginords belt has only low cold res, helm is either abyssus or bringer, both no resists, then u need to find phys life jewellery with resists can be very expensive, they trade up a lot of survivability to reach decent dps totals, soul taker shits over face breaker builds in dps and utility but I guess that's not op, face breakers are a poorer mans chance to play melee in endgame, by poorer I mean 8 - 10 ex to be survivable which for many people is way out of reach already

Poppycock. There are Diamond Skin nodes all over the place, and 20% res available from shield nodes.

Kaoms
Lionseye(no drawbacks at all)
Shavronnes
Searing Touch (Burning dmg is too OP)
Discharge
EA/Quill Rain combo
Duel Spork low life with 500+ Rarity (seriously GGG?)

I will honestly probably just laugh at GGG and play another game. I dont even play a facebreaker, But i think its very cool that melee finally has a build that shines. If anything they should use facebreaker builds as an example of how melee builds should be.

The fact that ranged does more damage than melee (even facebreakers) and sits leisurely at a safe distance without having to worry about getting 1 shot is complete bullshit.

For the risk melee take in POE, we should shit on ranged DPS.

No, it is not. GGG got themselves into a situation like this by making an item that was 'ok' using an old formula to completely balls to the walls OP using the new formula by making Facebreaker's bonus so incredibly high. Now it is time to rectify that mistake.


it's ok. That much dmg isn't necessarily a buff. You can one-shot yourself way way better now 'wink wink' . Same goes for Lioneyes with Bringer of rain or Abyssus combo, Quill Rain 450K dps? Yea, you can clear the map and one-shot yourself at the same time...I support every buff in this game, especially those that lead to "greed dps" builds that end up killing them selves. It's like carrying plutonium in your pocket, it's gonna kill you sooner or later.

I could get about another 100 damage out of my rings with a perfect iron instead of that coral, and with a 6L, I could probably eke out another few hundred DPS. With Abyssus, I might be able to get up to, I dunno, 14k with the gear I have? What am I missing here? My friend has a 6L and Bringer of the Rain and he barely tops 12k. And that's without even getting into the massive loss of resists/armor/etc. that come with having no chest, a very specific headpiece, belt, and gloves, and getting almost all your damage from jewelry.
