im a dd build and bought a pyre ring thinking it would be good
it's not instant flip stay away from that ring if you're prolif build |

" I think you can just go for direct, i.e. non-proliferated burn based on high burst damage + Vaal Pact to protect against reflect.
Spoiler
Think 3-4 Frenzy + 3-4 Endurance + 3-4 Power charges. Discharge + Chance to Ignite + Fire Pen + Life Leech + Increased Burning Damage + Conc Effect. Keystones: Resolute Tech, Vaal Pact. Romira's Banquet for instant charge replenishment, Searing Touch for DPS. Windscream for extra curse. A corrupted amulet or Doedre's Damning for another extra curse. CWDT lv8 + Warlord's Mark + Ele Weakness + Flammability + Enduring Cry + Spell Echo in chestpiece. Other trigger gem setups elsewhere. Why wouldn't it work? Kripp ran a build like that in Nemesis, IIRC, but it couldn't convert Frenzy Charges to fire damage as effectively.
<Tyrfalger> Exactly, the next act is going outside Sarn and into those wheat fields (see the map) to become a farmer. Then we can spend our days endlessly farming. Wait a minute...

" im using this very build you describe but with 7 end charges and would never want to forgo cold damage (chill/potential freeze) for a bit more overkill that burn already does. it is for these stubborn curse immune fire resist rares still. the burn sources are the enemies hit the hardest - these die first and no longer prolif. (if - because i do not know this part for sure) burn is then taken by next-in-line-strongest burn and situation repeats - it removes the burn prolif strenght (the strongest burn applies) and replaces it with a very fast dousing phase.. i havent tested that in practice ofc but if i read it correctly ALL enemies in the initial discharge range are going to disintegrate and no longer prolif when they die. and this - for a prolif build - sucks horribly |

well.. there seems to be an option (or rather salvage - because it uses only one mod on the ring)
glacial hammer + cold conversion gloves for 100% cold damage (or 75%.. but it doesnt matter) + three dragons (ofc) + this ring for 100% fire + static blows for umph shocks (ofc ele prolif) it might just work - but if it is a viable way of dealing dmg? rather not |

One would think that people that pay a grand would protect their investment and try and make good uniques, seems not. And GGG shows how out of touch they are by forcing these kinds of designs on players thay payed them insane amount of money for a ftp game. Weird.

" What are you talking about? Witt designed that item as is. |

" Why didn't GGG tell him then that it won't be used by vast majority, and be vendor food? I doubt it's fun to know. We have marlene's fallacy, now we have a shield that is worse than perandus (although it is hard to top that shield, which is a sign of a good design, so they can do it when they try) overall, and a ring that will only be used with 3dragons (using a slot for just 1, yes 1 mode on a unique). This is not a good design. Unless they are planing to ruin burn prolifiration in upcoming updates and just didn't tell us. While remaining 3 items are clear design-wise this one isnt. That monsters disintegrate as they die drawvack is so strong that it looks like marlene falacy mk 2..
Sadly the 'design manifesto' for this ring is not available |
