I recently six-socketed two items, using 500 and 706 orbs, so I'd say you're pretty close. Not looking forward to linking them. It'll take a couple years to find/vendor that many orbs. Its very likely I'll have lost interest by then.

the fact that that many orbs are needed is kinda silly
basically if you arent uber rich you have no chance of getting a 5-6 link on an item by rolling it urself

you have a better chance buying one from a vendor or trading for it
i firmly belive this

also holy fuck i made a thread its 3 pages long and charan hasnt stalked it yet

rng in this game is broken

I look forward to seeing your evidence than the rng is broken in this game.

evidence all over the forums in the threads where people talk about using 2000 fuse to link items
or 1000 jewelers to get sockets

its there
dont feel like i have to prove anything to anyone its pretty well known across the forum

That's not evidence that the rng is broken. That is evidence that people don't understand what random means. They don't know how to calculate probabilities or what standard deviation means. Nor do they understand when they do and when they do not have all the information that is required to make a proper conclusion about what is and what is not working.

Instead they make stupid comments based on ignorance and/or imaginings.

Surprised that something with a 1 in 625 chance did not occur in 100 tries? Why does that surprise you?

im sorry you think its ok to dump 2000-4000 orbs into 1 item
i find that ridiculous and will not participate in it any longer

I love all the people pushing the "you don't know what random means" because people called the system broken. broken doesn't have to mean the mechanics of the system aren't working.

It can just as well mean the situation created by the mechanics is broken.

It can mean the odds are too low for crafting to be a large enough part of the game.

Even if the system is supposed to be random, it can mean that the way the chance is rolled has too large of a standard eviation.

The fact that it is supposed to be random and is does not make the system perfect and unflawed- there are any number of ways the current situation can be broken ven if the code works as intended.

You're missing the point. While it is annoying at times, it's RANDOM. It's silly to just give up and not try, just because it's unlikely. It's like playing the lottery - if you don't play, you can't win (even though you *might* save money by not playing). This is a *game*, betting on my items is actually fun for me.

That said, I do wish chances were somewhat better or Orbs dropped more.

That is a fair point, sir bilun, but some of us who are saying "it ain't broke" are saying it ain't broke in any way. No system is perfect and unflawed but this system ain't broke - some of us like it the way it is, including, very obviously, the designers of said system, so to claim it's "broke" is like me saying the colour of black people's skin is "broke" because it doesn't suit what I view as "normal" or satisfactory. Yes, an utterly specious example but my point is it's clearly all a matter of taste, not "broke" or "unbroken".

Ha do ken.

Of course it isn't broken in anyway. IMO, the people arguing that it is "broken" means that the probabilities are ****ed up. This will no doubt lead to the demise of this game. People will eventually be tired of farming for orbs/items and eventually quit. They tried to solve this issue by implementing scraps/whetstones to give us a higher probability but it still sucks.
PM me for faster response on trades.

the 6 s part does nothing to your character it wont make you powerful in a blink of an eye its just the first step for a 5l 6l so 1:500 is pretty annoying
