BM is a really common term from SC.

South Carolina? Soft Core? Sports Center? Senior Counsel?

These are forums, not a text to your girlfriend. No one knows what the hell you're talking about.

SC means Starcraft.. A popular RTS game, no need to freak.

Now on topic, i dont agree with you OP. I honestly dont believe that it is BM to not sell something to someone since they arent ready to buy immediately. He may have said "Ok" to not get a bad reaction from you, and sure, that is dishonest but when you want to trade, you should be ready to trade at that moment.

My favourite is when someone tries to buy an item off of me and I tell them a price that they don't agree with. They then tell me how the rolls are terrible and that it's vendor trash.

Man, this is how haggle works. You are supposed to tell them that the roll is actually decent and even low rolls on such item work great together and then suggest new price. Eventually one of you will agree on the price and trade is complete. Or not, it depends...

So anyone who has trouble understanding bartering, remember the Monty Python's Life of Brian Haggle scene :)

I think of this every time I trade.

Person A: WTS Springleaf Shield
Person B: How much?
Person A: Offer
Person B: 1 chaos
Person A: (no reply)
Person B: 1 chaos for Springleaf
Person A: I don't trade with low-ballers.

Gets me every time.

Person A's job is to rip B off.
Person B's job is to rip A off.

That is, A intentionally offers a ridiculously high price and B offers a ridiculously low price. This has been perfected over thousands of years of trade, yet it is still news to some people.

The problem is the people who get mad when the offer isn't what they had in their mind and they stop talking to you. Yes, this happens a lot.

You know, when both people discuss a price its okay if A wants more and B wants to pay less. You meet somewhere in the middle so both parties are satisfied, but that requires a normal conversation which a lot of people in this game are not capable of. I don't know if its the curse of F2P, but I've never met so many people that are incapable of trading in a civilized manner.

We do live in the age of shows like pawn stars being mega popular. I don't know why so many players are incapable of learning how to effectively haggle.

Just the other day a guy didn't even message me back after he told me to make an offer and "shocker" I did make an offer.
Standard Forever
I hate haggling and all the "no, you say first. No you do" thing, so I prefer to deal with people who post prices alongside their stuff. I almost always post prices, unless I really have no clue about the item value. It faster this way.
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
the one thing i hate, is when i say "wts x 10 chaos" and someone whispers me "ok i'll buy".

get to trade screen, "oh is equiv good i have 5 chaos and 10 alc"
