Hard hits are totally negated with really high armour. Look at the guy who just posted a video on youtube of him afk tanking Kole with 4.4k hp.

What I was saying is that u will have around 1K extra armour, that wont be much difference.
Also I still believe that with 10-12K hard hits will still hurt. And thats the amount you will get in the end, might be a bit more or a bit less. People that facetank Kole (if they had armour) would be more in the region of 20K armour.

Also tried to look up the video on youtube. Watched 2 posted in this week but both were Evasion based chars? So I dont know...

Here is the first video, its a 2 part video. Explains how he plays life in end game maps.

And he has 25k armour. You wont reach that. Also he uses blind in his cyclone skill that gives him 75% chance to evade and he has over 50% blockchance. All those combined makes him able to facetank yes.

The difference however is that you wont reach 25k armour (but only 1 or 2k more armour at most compared to my build), you wont have a chance to evade and you will have a lower blockchance...

So yeah, he can facetank those hits but that doesnt mean you can

Also the reason he has that high armour is because he didnt spend 1 single node in dps but spend everything in armour, evasion, life and block. I also noticed he uses enduring cry which helps as well with dmg reduction...

All in all that build is entirely different as this build and cannot be compared to this one

Everything you said above is true, my point was that you can get to a place where you can facetank those big hits. Obviously this build wont get to the point he is in the video but I do believe that stacking some more armour could be beneficial.

I just hit 80 last night and now I'm trying to decide where to go. I have 204% life currently. I could either pick up some more life nodes, some claw damage nodes, the 50% more armour nodes, unwavering stance or heart of the oak that gives 30% stun avoidance.

If he would rely on just armour he would take big hits as well :)

As you can see when he's fighting Kole he gets hit one time for about a 1000 dmg. That might have been a crit but it still hurts.

His build is very solid, he combines the strenght of high armour (white mobs cant touch him) with blind and high evasion and block. So what you see in the video isnt armour alone :)

Back on this build: with 204% life you should be around the 4K area, should be enough. I dont know how ur damage is, shud be around 6K at that lvl?

I'm at 3.7k hp but missing hp on 2 pieces right now, once i get that figured out shoudl have over 4k. My dps is struggling right now. I am at 3.6k but still haven't been able to find a proper 5L and have no quality gems yet. Also my claw is good but i want to find one with a higher attack speed. If I do all those things I should have a much higher dps.

Hi guys. So I'm at level 46 with this build and starting to struggle a little with survivability. I think it is solely because of my poor gear. Everything I have has been self found. I was wondering if anyone else playing this build at a higher level has any thing to sell that is good for this build?

Your DPS is way too low indeed. With my 69 character I was already over 6K DPS, so you must have done something really different in there.

Life sounds OK once you get life on those two items, thats allright. But your main focus should be DPS. Higher DPS is survivability as well: You leech more and you kill enemies much faster.

Its hard to post random pieces of gear. It would help to know what you are struggleing with? Resists, life, armour?

I'm at 1600 armour for a 44% physical damage reduction, but I'm running determination on top of that. I'm having some trouble with my mana so can't really run more than 1 aura at the moment. My resists are ok I guess? They're all around 65% on average on Cruel. I think my life is the biggest issue at the moment at only 900! I have no trouble with dps, although I don't even have a single decent 4L yet.
