It's called curved progression. Something RPGs have been doing for decades.

The only curved progression I can see in other respectable RPGs is raw experience. Your character doesn't necessarily become stronger the more time you put into it. Sure you can magic find for a while and gear up, but once you're geared up what are you really going to do to upgrade that gear? It takes a lot of shakos to turn that plain pcomb into a 45 life pcomb. I would call that a spike.

I love how everyones reply when someone wants to change how you link items is to just buy it. This is a arpg a loot based game, where you find and make your own items. But i guess if Diablo 3 is really auction house 3 then this is path of trading forums 3?

Trading was a huge part of D2, and is a huge part of this game.

For the proper troll you were supposed to add a "you jelly?" or a "problem?" to the end of the post.

you cant argue with these people. They see hear or think the words D2 Diablo 2 and their sphincters literally start quivering with glee an excitement.

D2 did it this way D2 did it that way. ok i know this is going to be harsh but some times the truth must be said. I didnt like D2 when it was current and i dont like it now. I thought then and i still think the same thing now. D2 was just dumb and looked and still does look very damn boring.

If i wanted to play D2 id go play D2. This is Path of Exile. a game thats supposed to be a more modern game. A new game not a rehash or reboot. But a new game. That might do things differently, some better some worse. That is GGG's decision alone to make.

The crafting system in this game right now is absolutely horrid. Yet it is probably one of the biggest draws for new people. The very idea that one can craft gear that is practically designed for 1 spec. Even down to the types of mods that can be on said piece of gear is a astoundingly wonderful idea and could breath some much needed life into the cookie cutter industry that is game design. But to see it gutted the way it is. all for the sake of how trade was done in D2 is just mind–blowingly insane. why did they even bother to spend all that money and development on it in the first place.

The way crafting is now is no different then from how loot is done in D3. I quit that game after 1000ish hours amongst all my alts. I hated the generic random loot that had generic random stats. I had heard that if you hated D3 and its generic random loots then PoE was the game for you. but sadly with the way crafting is right now this game might as well be another D3. When it is considered more effective and less costly to just buy your gear vs crafting your own gear then some thing is horribly wrong. Hopefully the Team at GGG will try to do things differently then what D2 did.

If D2 was so damn fantastic why in the bloody damn hell are you even here? why are you not on D2 instead of here?
