6L is a Privilege not a Right!!!

I've had my share of luck, I'm just not arrogant enough to think that everyone else will get the same luck as me...

Why do some people always manage to get good gear while others can not?

RNG

So they're just always lucky and you're not? That seems legit.

1. Crafting
on the one hand 6Linking (same as map drops) seem to depend too much on luck!
on the other hand there is a way to deal better or worse with RNG.

e.g:
go only try 6Linking when you can afford it (having stacked about 500-700 fusings in stash).
go only try 5Linking when you have about ~100 fusings to use
go only linking if the item is worth it. If you have this ilvl 77 6S chest and feel it is worth it well just go with your 40 fusings and 160 armourers and 50 chaos and you will maybe end up having a good 5L chest. Don't just try 5Linking your 5S lvl 51 yellow chest that you just found with 1100 armour +15 lightning res and +25 fire res + 0 life lol.

2.
Trading
- if you find a 5L that you can't use why don't you just sell it for orbs, add some of your other orbs and buy a 5L/6L that you can use?
- you can basically sell everything in this game. I have made it to 50 pure exalts with _only_ ingame and forum-shop trading. No JSP needed, no RMT needed!

I still use to sell normal/supportgems for 1alch,1fuse,1chaos,1gcp,1,5gcp etc.
I still sell white 4L items lvl 20-70 for 1alch to whatever it may be worth.
I still sell mediocre lvl 50+ items for new guys that can make a use and improvement from it.
I still craft: I 5L 6S, roll them with chaos and sell them. I 4L good helmets/gloves/boots that I find.
I still buy cheap unlinked good rolled items and link them to sell and make my profit.

How do you guys who never efficiently trade, never are willing to take any risks and do not value the small things expect to get any exalts from the game?

Even if you don't like trading at all, go play 100 maps (10-20 per day, each 5-10 minutes) and you will on average find gear worth of 2-5 exalts after all.

But you guys who are complaining here probably don't even know the real value of things, vendor things that can be sold or sell things for 1/4-1/3 of their real value to guys like me who resell them for their true value.

Trading is a skill, I have been playing D3 and been one of the best/most efficient traders in my group of experienced players. I usually never have drop luck so this is how I make up for it. And it is not that hard even if you only are 50% as good as I am with it you would now have endgame gear + half the amount of exalts that I have.

But you guys do nothing like this and expect the same results as someone who masters it?

Now you say I am 24/7 gamer. As I am a student (of economics) I probably have a bit more time than others. Still I do my studies, maintain my Starcraft 2 Master league 1on1/2on2 status and also play some other games here and then (company of heroes 2 beta, CS:GO). I have made it to top 300 softcore ladder even with a 2-3 month break after SC2 HOTS was released. If I was not doing this break I would probably be now at about 100-150 exalts instead of 50 with also some pieces of better gear than I have now. And I effectively play 2-3 hours a day.

What I want to tell you? It is about RNG, but it is also about skill in 1. trading, 2. gearing your char to the exact needs (progress, dmg, survivability or magic find etc...).

Yes there are these guys using RMT to get 150 exalts. But I tell you something. These guys buy a 6L chest for 45 Exalts, a weapon for 20+ exalts and other gear for 50 exalts and then are poor and after 2-3 months realise their 550 ES 6L chest has lost almost all value.

If you guys rolling 6L with 70 fusing and get 5L after 50 fusing and then continue and then not get the 5L or 6L again and then think you are the most unlucky guy ever. It ell you: You just don't have any skills.

If you can't find 300 fusings after 14 days of playtime, you suck hard. Some peole even had way more currency day 1.

That is another BS

You can or cannot have luck with exalt, but not with fusings. Flow of fusings is constant because of much higher drop rate

The probability has nothing to do with skills. 5L is 140 fusings, 6L is 1200.

You can make once 6L with 50 fusings or don't make it with 3000 fusings, but those events are very rare and definetly not repeatable

The thread is about whether a 6l is a privilege or a right.

Do you feel 'privileged' when you trade for a 6l, or do you feel it's your 'right' to trade for a 6l?

5L is 126 Fusings, 6L is 900. I would know.

Well, actually, with the whole whetscraps thing now, I wouldn't.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Another question is how many it takes with the quality bonus now.
not now with using full armourers 20%Q. You even have a very good chance to make 6L with 100 fusing and 100x20 armouers (who has that many tho?) or 100x4 armourers if its white.

edit: not saying you gonna make it with 100 fusings + full armourers. But there is defenitely a good chance to get it from what I think.

I think I am privileged. I made my first 6L 1-2 weeks after openbeta start with ~230 fusings on a low itemlevel 6S Astral plate (I havent played closed beta of PoE). I would have been satisfied with any 5L but I was lucky and unlucky at the same time and made ~230 fusings instant 6L without any 5L before.
