You have to play super defense in HC and its pretty boring, I love making builds that are fun and interesting, and blowing shit up, not worrying about the "if any single little thing happens, or a ds, or internet fail, or power out, or some jackass hits a power pole ill lose all my work"

I don't play super defensive. I've also almost died about ten different times, but that's part of the fun :3

And you only lose your character if you consider being in scrubcore "lost", in which case, not playing HC isn't really an option for you anyway.

I play scrubcore because I like playing weird and unsafe builds. You can't do that in hardcore because with any interesting build you're probably going to die.

Hardcore is not very hardcore, here's why:
This game is not hard. It is not mechanically difficult to play at all. The only time this game becomes skill intensive is when players are trying to do things rapidly, in other words, during races. You can play hardcore and creep through it and you aren't skilled for not dying. There are only a handful of builds which are 'viable' in hardcore. These builds have a better chance of surviving 'surprises' like reflect mobs coming in from off screen, unlucky shock stacks, taking big damage hits from bosses, and desync. You can even take a portal out of a bad situation (losing a boss fight) or just close the game, that's not hardcore.


If somebody wants to call standard mode "scrubcore" that's fine. They can call it whatever they want. It's pathetic if you get offended by it. Just keep in mind that most hardcore players aren't "hardcore" at all and they are deluding themselves if they think they are superior for playing that mode.

Who cares, most people i see call people "scrubcore" players are like level 40. TBH if the game didnt desync alot and i was able to play in a party of more than 2 people i would play hc but my i7 and 7870 just wont do it
