Saying "Scrubcore" is offensive and should be banable/mutable.

Not only is it an insult to players who prefer a certain play style, but it ruins the feel and look of the community. It is a word used by people with an elitist and unfriendly attitude and promotes hatred.
I personally find it offensive when people reference NORMAL mode as "Scrubcore" and sometimes even when it's called "softcore", because neither of these are actually what it's called. I think that along with all other personal insults, saying "scrubcore" to reference normal mode should be banable or mutable if reported by someone who is genuinely offended by it. I don't really care if anyone else agrees, because either way the fact is it's offensive and ruins the atmosphere of the community. I can't remember if I reported the last person who I saw using this term but I feel it should not go unpunished. |

I only play softcore, or 'scrubcore'. The word does not offend me. May I suggest developing a thicker skin? I believe people choose when to be offended. It's a game. Why do you care what other people think of which league you choose to play?

But... many people play hc so they can say things like this and feel superior, it would be silly if they didn't get the reward for their higher risk in hardcore leagues. I do agree it can be kinda offensive in a way but hey, why not be generous, let them say it and just enjoy the standard game mode - or Anarchy, which is not hardcore either so it must be "scrubcore" too, I suppose.
Both of those terms are already part of the community, they partially define it, lets just embrace them both and kill some softcore rogues and scrub some maps with crazy mods in scrubcore. cheers w. P.S. I learned this from Tyrion Lannister. ✠ ✠

Embrace the term. Just know that you play in a league will build diversity. Where people are free to try out new and interesting builds. Whereas in HC, you can't. HC, while fun in the sense of the death thrill, is incredibly boring otherwise.

Simple fact is; Shit ISP + shared with 5 others = you'd have to be a complete masochist to even try HC in my house. |
