Not only is it an insult to players who prefer a certain play style, but it ruins the feel and look of the community. It is a word used by people with an elitist and unfriendly attitude and promotes hatred.

I personally find it offensive when people reference NORMAL mode as "Scrubcore" and sometimes even when it's called "softcore", because neither of these are actually what it's called. I think that along with all other personal insults, saying "scrubcore" to reference normal mode should be banable or mutable if reported by someone who is genuinely offended by it.

I don't really care if anyone else agrees, because either way the fact is it's offensive and ruins the atmosphere of the community.

I can't remember if I reported the last person who I saw using this term but I feel it should not go unpunished.

With this line of thinking, where would it end? People could just starting saying almost anything is offensive and ask for someone to be muted/banned. If they banned "scrubcore", it would simply be replaced with a new word, over and over, forever.

The only "fact" here is that YOU take offense to a particular term. Likewise, as a gamer who understands and accepts that people regularly make terms for things, I take offense to a thread this fucking stupid being made, and think that your account should be deleted. Literally.

Also, no gaming term has ever or will ever "ruin the atmosphere of the community. Suggesting that that is happening because you go out of your way to take offense to some random gamer term is amazingly egotistical.

PS. Removing a word wouldn't remove the sentiment. Always blows my mind that people cant figure that out.
In a world where people are persecuted or come into physical harm because of their skin pigment, religion, sexuality etc. We have video game forums where people just can't seem to deal with people being 'mean', online no less, about how they chose to play a videogame.

First world problems fucking OP.

I'd argue that it's symptomatic of a bad community. Just calling it a gaming term is completely missing out on what's happening more widely here. It just reminds me of issues like this: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/02/is-pervasive-sexism-holding-the-professional-fighting-game-community-back/
I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe
I was not offended

Or drown in my own shit.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit - The Tick

Thats the point. The term isn't the issue. Removing a term isn't going to change the underlying problem. If you had a magical button you could push that made everyone forget about the term "scrubcore", nothing would change.
