In a world where people are persecuted or come into physical harm because of their skin pigment, religion, sexuality etc. We have video game forums where people just can't seem to deal with people being 'mean', online no less, about how they chose to play a videogame.

Thats the point. The term isn't the issue. Removing a term isn't going to change the underlying problem. If you had a magical button you could push that made everyone forget about the term "scrubcore", nothing would change.
