Unfair death @ 2w HC event
|
The feeling i got from this thread was "Lololol im 1337 and you died".
Instead of saying a sentence that is like a hidden "OMG you so noob hahah lolol you died rofl im so pro and i was born pro and didnt go through the learning phase". Just dont say anything at all? Blood mana is a trait that will cause alot of death by accident, if one can minimize that so that players cant kill themselfs then it makes the game better as it will happen that players die by accidental use of blood magic and caustic mana flasks sooner or later. Why not fix it now before the issue is affecting players when path of exile is released. How about trying to run away from a mob and one gets hit 0.001 s before using the escape skill and one uses blood mana? If one is unlucky one dies then as blood mana would drain all the hp left. Or similarly, if one used a caustic mana flask to use a escape skill and got hit to low hp before. An easy fix is to make the blood mana or caustic mana flask not drain hp if the hp drain would kill the caster. Thus eliminataing an rng factor in HC mode. Carebear patch in some cases can be a patch to fix stuff that is a broken mechanic. |

" I agree that such a change would require ALL abilities/gems/flasks from killing you upon active use, and an enemy would HAVE to provide the killing blow for ALL situations. If you have account problems please Email Support

" Except there is nothing broken here except the reading comprehension of some people. I get that OP is heartbroken over his stupid mistake, I would be too. I would however not make a thread about it. As for Blood Magic, why even drag that into this? Price of using your HP pool for spells is the added danger of accidently killing yourself. Deal with it. That is all. IGN : Jovial

" In some games blood magic is when one runs out of mana. Like say if a caster runs out of mana and attempts to cast a spell, shouldt it automatically draw it from the casters hp pool instead? In PoE: Mana when it runs out = spells cant be cast unless mana = cost in which case the mana would be 0 after. Blood mana when it runs out = spells cant be cast unless hp left is the same as blood mana cost, supposedly. Blood mana could even have an added "HP May not be lowered to below 1 hp, and if at 1 HP Blood magic doesnt work" Why cant caustic mana flasks be like this? If HP < OR = CausticManaFlaskHPCost THEN NullfifyAllEffectsFromCasticManaFlask. Or leave the caster at atleast 1 hp and the caustic mana flasks also doesnt work with 1 HP. Theres so many options to fix this :) I think all mana/life using mechanics should have the same way of working, otherwise it confuses players. A better analogy would be red explosive barrels in games. If a red barrel doesnt explode it confuses players. Consistency is the keyword. If the effects are different then make a HUGE "WARNING MAY KILL CASTER" on each mechanic thing that does that. Last edited by Planetsurvival#1516 on Jul 29, 2012, 7:07:34 PM

Assuming the poster is telling the truth, all the people here screaming you didn't read, your own fault, don't whine about it are clearly not reading very well. Why would he click a flask in town? Because he accidentally clicked on the BUTTON! For those of you that have cats, you know stuff like that can happen.. :)
You can't use spells in town, why would you be able to use flasks? If only that's fixed in towns it's fine. If you don't want to accidentally kill yourself outside with this flask, then don't equip it! Chris, all these mechanics come with a 'use on your own risk' label, so if you're scared to accidentally kill yourself in battle with this, don't use it. If you want to keep the game as realistic as possible, you don't change it. In real life so many people 'play with fire' knowing it can kill them, and in a lot of cases does. |

" This pretty much. Why everyone jumped on the guy,I have no idea... |

" Why you so mean? :( |

" You can't use flasks unless they are equipped, so a better question is why on earth equip a caustic flask when using CI ? Flasks shouldn't be usable in town though, I agree to that. |
